Yes I think it is resilient to scratches. I recently put this in a room in our basement that we have just for our dogs. We have two dogs that weigh between 60 and 80 pounds. Floor is easy to clean and have not found a scratch on it. Also is water resilient to a certain extent.

As for water resiliency, a little water won't hurt, but if too much water gets into the seems or edges, all laminates are susceptible to water damage. So, don't put the dogs water bowl directly on the laminate. Either put something else underneath or move it to another room.

It is scratch resistant with most pets. Unless you seal the seams It's not very water resistant but can take the occasional spill if you clean it up and don't let it set in. The base material will soak up water like a sponge, swell and be ruined.

I think if you want to have flooring that is going to hold up over the long haul, you'd want to go with something better. It is pretty thin and over all it's not bad for what I paid. Yet having a dog would definitely lower the life expectancy of this floor.
So my answer is I would definitely not use this flooring if I had a dog. I wouldn't feel confident on its long term durability.

You'll need an underlayment with a vapor barrier. Shop around to get the best price. With this flooring, you could end up paying as much for the underlayment as you spent on the flooring itself.

I would use a padding with a moisture barrier. Concrete can get very cold and the air trapped between the concrete and the laminate could cause a moisture build up. The last thing you want is for the bottom of the laminate to get wet.

This creates a tub effect and impedes moisture from wicking into the side of the floor planks from the concrete wall. Also avoid extreme variations in temperature and humidity: the ideal room temperature is between 64º F and 94º F and the room humidity should not exceed 75%. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 75 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Eh. I will preface this review by saying this is the first time I have purchased laminate and we chose to install it ourselves, with the assistance of a friend who has installed laminate flooring a couple of times before. So I don't have much to compare it to. The quality of this product definitely seems reflective of it's price. It was extremely difficult to put together without chipping the edges or damaging the edges so that the next piece wouldn't go in, even though we were following manufacturer's instructions and the advice of our experienced friend. At the very end, we found a tip online that suggested using a scrap of laminate between the tapping block and the piece you are tapping in. This worked VERY well, after we figured out the the scrap has to be narrower than the piece. You want the scrap to lock into one side of the laminate piece you are installing, but not two edges, so that you can easily remove the scrap piece after you get the piece in place. If you buy this product save yourself much headache and use that step. We used this laminate to floor two rooms that connected. It took us ALL day Saturday and Sunday. There was one entire box that had damaged edges and we didn't discover it until we were a row past it and we had to take up two rows to repair it. There was several times where we had to remove a row to fix a chip. I think the tip I mentioned above would have prevented much of that. I had also read many reviews that said this flooring had good scratch resistance but I did not find that to be true. After installing it, I started to move my couch across it and it scratched right away. Definitely put felt pads under anything that is on top of this. The floor looks beautiful - but I think this is definitely a case of getting what you paid for and I should have known better. July 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very happy with this flooring!!! First off all, I have never done laminate flooring so this was a learn as you go kind of thing. I would recommend watching some youtube videos, they help! The first 2 rows from the wall were the hardest to get started as nothing would line up. You learn that your walls are not perfectly straight! However, after you fight those first 2 rows everything goes super smooth and simple! ***Important*** As big of a waste of money those kits with the rubber bumper and pull bar seem, DO NOT SKIP OUT ON IT! You will destroy the planks if you try using anything else! trust me, I learned the hard way! Overall, I am very happy with the outcome! Today is day 5 after installation and its still beautiful! Its fairly durable, We have no scratches so far... January 21, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for. Very cheap and a pain to install. Cardboard tongues are fragile. Corners and edges chip and peel easily. Nobody likes to install this type of flooring. Step up to a more durable and easiervtobworkbwith product. July 31, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by worst flooring ever made Junk laminate will never buy this product again spend the extra money on a better product April 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good floor, easy install, nice color, and really affordable. Saw this online and found a store that had quite a few boxes in stock local. First thing was I Read the instructions and install went really smooth. Planks Locked in place perfect (I wouldn't tap to hard when locking them in, just tap right until you see the gap close flush and no more) and I maybe had only 2 wood planks out of 18 boxes that were not usable. Its been a few months since I did the install, so far no problems. Has been holding up quite well. May 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value / Good Looking Floor This was a great value for the money! The appearance is very nice. The quality of the product is fair, its not as sturdy as I thought. However, after it has been installed you wouldn't know the difference of how sturdy it is. I am very pleased with my purchase. I would buy this product again. My only caution is to budget for transition pieces. They are way too expensive, but you have no other choice if you want matching transition pieces. $20 per stick! That is more than I spent per box of flooring. January 13, 2015
