Answer:
Yes it is. Some users have used a bonding primer like Henry's 336 (I think that's the name - check the reviews just to be sure) before using the tile; I did not use a bonding primer when I applied my tiles to the floor.

Answer:
Yes, I have done that, as long as the older tile is stuck down really well, and no bumps in it.

Answer:
I have had success installing over old tile if the old tile is very clean and level. Old tile high spots can be scraped or low spots filled in. Also consider, if it will butt up to a carpet will it still be below or even with carpet height, will new baseboard heights interfer in relation to anything that might be in the way, and door clearance.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great. Had trouble finding more of this tile to finish job, but able to locate it online at Trafficmaster.com. July 31, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Too Brown Bought this product as a Special Buy of the Day and was excited to use it in a travel trailer and a laundry room in my home. Unfortunately we had to return them back to the store as the color was much more brown than it looks in the picture. The quality looked great and easy to install as well. If you are looking for more of a brown marble then I can see this being a great product. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Carrara Marble Vinyl Tile How hard can it be? peel paper and place on floor.....easy. June 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Much better than old tile! After reading all these reviews, I was confident I could install this tile myself with ease. Now, I am not a professional and this was my first tile installation of any kind. Placing the squares down was super easy - until I got to the edges and the odd corners....cutting this tile was a PAIN. The score and snap method didn't work for me...I had to use scissors and it was very hard not to make a jagged edge. I really wish I had a handy man install these - would have saved me a lot of frustration and probably would've come out looking much neater. Overall I still like the finished product, but it doesn't look as neat as the other pictures from other reviewers. Also I am left with some gaps (I didn't use grout) where the tile was not completely flush against other tile and I'm nervous about how thats going to hold up over time. All in all not the worst $50 I ever spent. September 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I am pleased I really like this product.i look elegant, good quality and easy to put it together.all of my friends that came over love it. September 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Carrara Marble I have one word, BEAUTIFUL! It looks so real you can't tell the difference. Very easy to install. This is gong in my kitchen and dining room too. January 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Carrara Marble Vinyl Tyle I need a new floor covering in my basement foyer and laundry hallway. The area was very dark, so with little paint (bought at Home Depot) and the addition of the tile the area now looks bright, more crisp and welcoming. The tile is so easy to use. just peel off the backing and get the first piece lined up and all the other pieces just fit perfectly into place. The price of the tiles vs the price of sheet vinyl was a major deciding factor in the purchase. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love my new bathroom floor We just put this vinyl tile in our master bathroom. We had about 50 sq feet to cover. We had an outdated vinyl sheet on the floor. We didn't even have to remove the floor. We just cleaned it really well then applied the Henry 336 floor primer using a small paint roller. Let it sit for about 45 minutes then started to place the tiles on the floor. The only difficult part of the instal was going around the small intricate corners in our bathroom but if you just score and snap the tile it works just fine. We used 3/16 inch spacers. The great thing about this tile is that you don't have to wait to grout. We plan on doing this process again in our other 2 bathrooms and in our kitchen! March 25, 2013
