I would purchase 13 boxes of tile for a room this size to account for cut tiles and potential mis-cut tiles.

Answer:
You will need 12 boxes of tile, which is enough to cover 432 sq ft of area. In a perfect world 11 boxes would work, but you need to allow for cut tiles (less than a full tile) along the walls, so 12 boxes should get the job done, if you lay out the room well.

Hello jass and thank you for your question.
The TrafficMaster Gunmetal Ribbed 18 in. x 18 in. Carpet Tiles use the peel & stick system.
Your room area is 12 feet by 33 feet = 396 square feet
Each tile is 1.5 ft x 1.5 ft = 2.25 square feet
There are 36 square feet of tiles in each case = 16 tiles
Your room (396 square feet) divided by 36 square feet per case = 11 cases for an “exact fit.”

To be safe, you should allow 5-10% overage for future replacement or damaged tiles if the pattern is “square.” If you plan on installing a diagonal pattern, you should allow 10-15% overage.
You should order a minimum of 12 cases of tiles for a square pattern and 13 cases of tiles for a diagonal pattern.

Answer:
This depends on how many tiles you will need to cut/trim around the edges of the room. I would recommend getting at LEAST 10% more square footage to ensure you have enough on hand to complete the install. If you have tiles left over, they can always be stored and used in case of damage to an installed tile.

Hi DB, your area is 110 square feet. Each box covers 36 square feet and has 16 pieces per box. You will need 49 tiles. You should get a few more in case you need to make cuts or one becomes damaged.

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 54 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic purchase! We installed these in our basement apartment three years ago and they have held up incredibly. After a family renting for two years, a large dog, and a recent huge remodel and construction workers in and out, there is no sign of wear. Its amazing actually for the price. For how thin the tiles are they actually are soft under feet, keep the floor warm, and feel padded. Highly recommend. July 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best investments I have made for my basement I own a recording studio out of my home and had a living room style carpet for many years and it was wearing badly. I didn't feel like spending $700 for one small room so I stumbled on these carpet tiles and all I can say is wow. Super easy to lay down and it looks great. And since I roll around on a chair from console to console, the carpet holds up great. February 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Carpet tiles have NO BACKING, cheapest carpet I've ever seen These carpet tiles have absolutely no backing. I've never seen carpet tiles like this... I don't even know how they are held together. These things wouldn't last six months without falling to pieces. They don't weigh anything. These carpet tiles are the lowest quality carpet tiles I have ever seen. Sending these back for a refund and going to my local flooring store to find some that will actually last. April 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New Home Theater - Easy to Install and Looks Great!!! If you are looking for thick plush this is not for you. But if you want ease of installation and great looks at a superior value this is the product. I was a little worried after the reviews talking about removing the backing and if it will stick. Two keys to this are store the carpet in a warm room so the glue is ready to adhere and the backing is pliable; and, prep the floor under the tiles properly. I applied to a concrete floor. If you think it is clean, clean it one more time. After that I had excellent results. Although the carpet is very thin the kids say they like the feel under their feet. May 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! Awesome product...Have a basement utltiy area, laundry room, workout room, & shop area totaling about 500 sqare ft. Was cement floor and wanted to do something. This product was perfect! Took a whole weekend to do, but well worth it. Easy to install, peel and stick. Scissors all you need.Used 13 boxes and kept 1 box for back up/replacement if needed. Anyone looking to imporove an office/basement area...this is all you need. Also really like the fact that it is made from recycled plastic bottles. July 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great carpet For the price we paid this carpet was perfect. We wanted something quick and easy to install that would make our basement look nicer. The carpet is thin, but for a room that is only used for movie watching it is absolutely fine. April 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty sweet product I was concerned that we would be a little over our heads with this install, but by following the included instructions, we had no issues at all. Floor looks great and didn't cost a ton of money. May 6, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Had to order additional carpet and did not match I had to order 3 more boxes of this carpet to finish the job. The carpet color and thickness did not match. I ordered 3 times with no luck. Now I have a section of carpet that looks completely different. On top of that the reason I ordered this type of flooring was to replace pieces if they got stained. Now I can't even do that. April 4, 2013
