Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good product, poor quality control Great idea for a product, but quality control is lacking. Picked up my first one, opened it up, filled it, and noticed a crack/hole/leak from the corner. Stuff happens, so returned it and ordered another. Well, opened, filled, and proceeded to find another hole and leak in a different part of the bag. Returned it and not buying another. July 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jr Pro 15 gal Tree Watering System The product does what it is supposed to do and is what I expected . However, I have a young 2" tree and this product covers so much of the base that when we get natural rain I feel it blocks the area around the base of the tree. I feel the need to remove it each time. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New trees need water Great for watering trees and shrubs that don't have a clear central trunk. A little harder to fill than a regular Treegator, but can be done easily. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic for 118 degree temps I had seen the stand up tree gator before and wanted to try one. When our summer weather pattern had our temps at 118 degrees, our recently (three months) planted tree began dropping leaves! We live in a desert climate and have clay soil, so a good soaking is hard. This little tree gator did the trick. We were able to get the tree more water at a slower rate - solving our soil dilemma with watering, too. Great product...very thick and is holding up well. We are using this two to three times a week through the summer months. I wish Home Depot would just carry this in their stores. July 31, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great! The product works exactly like specified. Great for watering trees that have branches practically all the way to the soil (I'm thinking of my Blue Cypresses) where the watering bags won't cut it. Also, it stands independent of the tree, so it won't knock over your newly planted trees. Just make sure the ground in the area around the tree is all or mostly flat (as it says in the instructions), or the water won't all drain out! I bought one and rotate it around my yard during the hot months. September 20, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super product Especially good for the newly planted tree. Ours is planted in an area that does not have a readily available water source. We have to drag 200 ft of hose to water. At least the task is minimized to a couple of times a week now. June 24, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed review I bought several bags for some young trees. After only 3 uses, one bag separated at the seam and is unusable. I will be taking that one back. One thing I did not think about when I bought these, is that you cannot just leave the bag around the tree between watering. The ground will heat up under the plastic and kill your tree roots. At least in the 103 degree heat in Texas in August. Would not buy again. August 9, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not worth the money treegators do not work if the trees are on even a slight incline. also, once the water drained to one side (bottom of slope), they folded in the wind and cracked open with the cold weather so water leaks out everywhere there is a crack in the plastic. so that is two big negatives. will be returning to Home Depot for credit. watering the trees by hand now.
