I was considering using this product for trim around windows on house. How will it hold up for that and can it be painted?
What widths and lengths is it available in?

Answer:
trex would be a poor choice. there are other composites available that would work better. Probably in the moulding section. Or how about plastic shutters instead. They come in colors and add a touch of class and good looks. Screw them on and your set for many years with no problems.

Answer:
depends on the material used for the decks surface. Wood surface would flex, composite would crack if the spacing was too wide. It also depends on the building codes and considerations about snow loading if that applies. Sorry about answering a question with a but it may help find the best answer for your situation.

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worse purchase I have made in years Built a 10x10 deck and all the railing of this product and it looked great for less than a year. It faded and has black spots all over it and even after cleaning it looks bad. More trouble then what it's worth. Paid about 3 times more for this composite. It's not worth the money unless you have all the time in the world to take care of it. Should have used standard decking and rails. Almost to the point of taking it apart and recycle it. Will never use it again. March 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Trex makes a great above ground planter We built two above ground planters using this Trex material. They look good, they weather well, and they do the job! May 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by develops black spotting Terx develops blacks spotting on a constant basis. This is a well known problem. You may try many of the products available to clean it. They will, but the black spotting will return shortly. You will repeat the process over and over, get tired of it and give up until you find another product that makes another claim about being able to clean it. You will just begin the cycle over again. Ask yourself this simple question - Why are these cleaning products even made unless there was a problem??? I hope this helps. June 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Deck Board Ever This is the best product that Trex has ever produced. The new shell technology seems to have eliminated all of the previous issues with Trex (Fading, Staining, Black Spots). I have been installing Trex for 20 years and have now seen it transition into a maintenance free product. A+++ July 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by seems excellent, going to use it as landscape edging heavy, surely super long lasting for straight edge beds/paths w/composite stakes and deck screws June 10, 2012
