For the height of 30.375 this width and depth appear less than 6.25". I am double checking that this is correct or is it the total combined. Or is it 3.125" each.

Answer:
Thanks for your question. The baluster height is 30.375". Installed this will give you a total rail height of 36". The baluster is 1.5x1.5" square at the top and bottom. I am not sure what the 6.25" refers to. Thanks, Gina Trex Customer Service.

I bought 8 boxes of these for my porch remodel a couple months ago. I am currently building a new back deck and will need approximately 8-9 boxes. I believe the "in store" price was $105-110 per box. Home Depot online has the best price of anyone, by far.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A little on the expensive side but will give a much nicer look to your deck project. These spindles are expensive but give a next level look. I'm not sure if I would use these (or any vinyl products) if you have rough kids, they just don't feel that strong. But as long as you understand their limits they are fine. They are thick enough so they don't easily flex much when pushed on sideways and when placed at the correct spacing (less than 4" per code) they are more than strong enough to hold any weight one would normally put on a railing. As for the look. They just look so much nicer than the standard square spindles. I didn't want to use the standard pressure treated decking so I opted to use Tigerwood (the picture doesn't do it justice). That kind of made me want to use items that would last but also look not so basic. After building the deck I realized that one of this summer's projects would be to redo the entry way porch to match the deck. After looking around at all the options I ended up deciding on Trex spindles. Home Depot has the best price I could find. The shipping was fast. The only issue, not much of an issue, was that they put one box of 16 spindles, that's how they come from Trex, in a larger cardboard box. The box was almost twice the size needed and since I ordered 10 boxes the day UPS dropped them off there was a large pile of boxes. January 20, 2015
