Really pleased with the ease of assembly and overall quality of this product. Very lite weight but strong and easy to attach to the vehicle.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jm Good value for the product
It's light, strong and handy as heck. Also easy to install / remove between uses. It stores easily in a small space standing up. I just leave it behind my car against the garage wall, ready for action.
Connection is loose in the receiver, need to figure out something to tighten it up... teflon pad or something friction free.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JackKavaltrayde Sturdy and handy
The carrier is easily assembled and installed. It might seem to extend too far to the rear but that distance provides clearance to allow the SUV's rear door to open.
It doesn't look solid but backing up the aluminum rails is a steel frame. I weigh 145 and sat on one side without a problem.
The only issue with this is a cosmetic one: the platform has a slight tilt to the right. Not sure if it's because the bar wasn't welded perfectly straight or if the SUV's hitch receiver is slightly skewed.
This allows me to transport certain items that might not be all that great to have inside the SUV. Just be sure to cover any load with a non-stretch net or a tarp and straps.

The carrier goes together easily and is a great value. Light weight, yet very sturdy. I'm very pleased and gladly recommend this product.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hunter It's alright.
Easy assembly and reflectors for safety are a plus but fits into hitch sloppily. Lots of play and makes A LOT of noise when nothings on it. I'll leave it in the back of my Jeep while driving to my hunting spot or maybe wrap some duct tape around the post. Other than that it's alright.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Alex Great rack for the price
This rack, unlike most hitch cargo carriers, has one piece side/end beams. The other carriers I looked at bolted together in the middle, and often ended up flexing some after assembly, this carrier is very rigid. I am slightly concerned that over time the rivets that hold it together could bore out/enlarge their holes, which could cause some flex/racking in the carrier, but so far I am very happy with it. It was very simple to assemble (four bolts to connect the steel square tubing to the aluminum carrier), and is very light for storage/moving purposes.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JoeNJ Works well for me.
Really nice unit. Light weight and easy to put into and take out of receiver. I'm 76 and the weight of the unit was important for me - can't lift as much as when I was younger. Easy to put together. Prior to buying I asked about assembly on the website and HD said if I had problem just come by the store and they would assemble it for me. Now that is service. Don't know what happened to the earlier reviews but most agreed it is a good unit. I have not tested at more than 100 lbs so not sure what 500 would do. What is really great right now is that it is on sale. (July 2014). The reflective tape on the rear and sides is a real safety feature which most units don't have. It is well worth the price even without the sale.

Have not used it more than once but it looks like it will work well and at a good price. Would give it 5 stars but feel it needs a cross bar running side to side. Smaller items could slip thru. Really like the lightness but it still has a steel support to go into the receiver. As simple as it is took a few minutes to assemble.
