Bought a $19.99 sprayer from Home Depot and applied to my split rail fence. Excellent coverage, easy to apply, looks beautiful. Will absolutely buy again if I need a sealer.

I used a sprayer to apply it to my fence. There might be more waste or more that gets on the ground, but it was fast and easy. I think it gets more soaked in than using a roller or brush. It goes on with a white look to it, but as it dries to turns to clear. You can feel a difference on the cedar like you put a clear coat of a sealer or polyurethane on it. Rain beads right off. Can't say how long this lasts on the fence. Mine has been on for just over a week. Clean up is easy with soap and water. Have pictures before, during and after. Not much difference in looks between before and after other than a slight gloss look.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 333333333 Great color retention, easy to apply, but be careful:
Product does what it says, the color of our cedar turned out great, leaves a light semi-semi-gloss matte finish which is pretty nice to look at. Very minimal odor during application. We used this to seal 1/4" x 4" T&G cedar under the exposed floor of a loft inside the house. We did 96ea. 8 ft. boards (front & back) with two gallons, had some left over. Problem is the floor flexes a bit when you walk across it. This product is water-based and we live on the coast, it's humid most of the time. The joints in the cedar stick together while they sit undisturbed overnight and they crackle when you walk across the floor at first. Then it's quiet again. Sounds kinda ugly unless you know what's up! Gonna have to make sure someone walks the floor before we show the room when we sell! Also, make sure you're careful not to order this stuff during a bad cold winter spell - they ship UPS Ground and the first shipment froze enroute, which ruined it; we had to reorder! Very happy overall with the way it looks!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rob55 Great non toxic product
Bought this product to seal my elevated cedar garden bed. 4'x8'.
Used a spray gun with my air compressor. Went on easy and even. Easy clean up.
Looks great on the wood. Don't know how long it will last but a gallon will be good enough for years to come.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rogcon ease of application, enhances natural appearance
applied on 2month old louvered privacy fence, power washed with water let dry for a couple of days. Used a small diameter roller and trim brush to apply. very thin like water. Tape and tarp on the house and deck, goes on white or milky dries clear very quickly especially in direct sun. drips will show as white spots if you let them dry, that is what I used the brush for. I put a second coat on a couple of days later used a whole gallon fence is about 260 sq. ft. came out looking like I wanted will see how long it lasts. Can recommends spraying but I just had the house resided and did not want to chance over spray.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike This product is extremely easy to apply and enhances the look of cedar as soon as it dries.
Cedar-Seal goes on white and dries clear, giving the cedar the appearance of fresh cut wood. Applying 2 coats will protect the wood, avoiding the graying of the cedar, which although some people like, I do not particularly care for. I especially like its non-toxic makeup, because I can use it for the cedar on my raised vegetable garden. My neighbors tell me that I have the best looking raised garden bed they ever saw. Cedar-Seal actually brings out the look of the wood, accentuating the knots and character of the wood.

I used Cedar Seal to weatherproof a garden bench I'm making out of cedar. The instructions say to spray or dip to apply but I used a 2" brush to good effect. Cedar Seal is a thin white liquid, so it worked well to dip the brush in a small container held over the wood to catch the drips.
I applied it outdoors and didn't notice any odor. In general it yellows and darkens new cedar slightly, giving it a warmer, richer tone. It didn't absorb evenly in end grain, so there was some color variation. It also didn't soak in as well on dense knotholes and heartwood, leaving a slight shiny surface in those areas.
I had sanded the bench top smooth before applying and noticed it was slightly rougher after the Cedar Seal dried because the grain raised a bit when it got wet from the Cedar Seal. This wasn't noticeable on the rough cedar legs.
Cleanup was simple with soap and water.
