Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Product Installed according to directions with provided drill bit. Pulled right out of the wall. Doesn't support a thing. April 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best anchors around i have used other anchors and these are far more superior than the ones i have used in the past , i have used them to hang shelves, cabinets, wall decor, window treatments and many other things . i like how they come with the correct size drill bit so you dont drill too big or too small of a hole to insert the anchor in the wall. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty Good; Some Practice Helps Hope this isn't a duplicate review; was finishing one when the page reloaded for some reason and lost it... Anyway, bought these for a project (shelves, towel racks, etc. in a small bathroom) before reading the reviews and was having doubts after I read them. Never used them before. Thought I'd return them but the design looked good so decided to try the anchors on a piece of 1/2 inch drywall scrap before actually using (or returning) them. First thing I found is that the tip of the anchor gauges at 1/4 inch but the supplied drill bit gauged at 17/64 and it made a kind of sloppy hole, and did not exit the back of the drywall very cleanly. An old (wasn't going to use a good bit on drywall; that stuff would ruin it) 1/4 inch bit made a much cleaner hole, even out the back paper of the drywall. Then I tried the anchor itself; the 1/4 inch hole from the old bit was just right. Next came the screw; once the screw was all the way in and the screw head contacted the surface, I found after some trial and error that 5-6 turns expanded the anchor and set everything as it should. Finally, when it came time to actually using them on my project, I put a dab of caulk in the back of the hole before inserting the anchor. Conclusion: They're pretty easy to work with. I found (and recommend) practicing with the anchors on a drywall scrap to get a feel for them before actually using them (made a world of difference, for me anyway) and to use a 1/4 inch drill bit (not the one they include). The anchors seem to be doing the job and considering the cost of a pack of 100 I think they're reasonably priced. November 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor. Why doesn't home depot try out what they sell in the stores? Very Dissapointed... The plastic is so cheap that the screws can easily pull through the threads in it. It cannot hold more that a pound or two before this happens. I bought it in the store thinking home depot would checkout and sell good items... I was very wrong.. they likely only selected what to see based on the profit they could make. I bought two different sizes of these in larger packs for about $12 each... What a terrible waste of money. I am off to Amazon to get a real product that is useful. Since I've used one of each (they couldn't pull out so I needed to tear the ends off and lot the other half drop back into the wall) there probably isn't any way for me to get my money back :( Very bad product and I am quite experienced at home repairs and projects so I am guessing the reviews that are positive are fake. I highly recommend to not purchase any products from "Triple Grip" August 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My go-to anchor I've tried every brand of anchor; these are the ones I always end up using. Even sometimes taking the other kinds out--because they don't feel secure enough--and putting in one of these. And for some reason, the #8s are the most dependable and reliable for me (I've used the #10s for heavier loads, the shelf fell down, I supplemented it with two smaller brackets toward the middle of the shelf, using #8 for the whole thing instead of #10). Yes, sometimes they break or bend when being hammered in; I find that this is due to pilot holes that aren't drilled in straight. But think about it--jamming plastic into a bendy tunnel just won't work. When I check the level on my drill for accuracy while drilling pilot holes, it just takes a couple taps, and the anchor slides right in. At this point, I don't care if some of them bend or break, they always work. If they don't go in easily, it's usually due to my error. Bottom line, the stuff that I've hung with #8 Triple Grips stays up. So it's my go-to. August 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Anchors did not open I walked into the bedroom one random day months after using the anchors to secure shelves to the closet wall to find that everything had fallen to the floor. What I found was that the entire anchor and screw had pulled from the wall. The weight on the shelves was well within the limit stated on the package. What I found was that the anchors did not open at all. Now I have to re-evaluate everything else I have hung using this product. Less than stellar, sub-par, and lousy. May 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Taking them back These shouldn't even be on the shelf. I've used many dry wall anchors and these fall in the category of the junk you get free in some packages that usually get tossed for better. April 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Good Anchor, Reasonably Priced As with any wall anchoring product, you have to have a little patience and pay attention to what you're doing. If you drill your hole correctly and insert the anchor with a little care and a love tap, you'll have great success. I install a lot of shelving, coat hooks, etc. for my customers and I really like these anchors and typically mess up about 5% if I'm careless. I've used them in masonry as well with great success. At about 11 cents a piece, you can't beat the 100-pack price. December 6, 2014
