Product Overview

Tripp Lite's SRCOOL12K is a next-generation air conditioner designed for supplemental area cooling, emergency cooling and off-hour cooling applications. The SRCOOL12K uses environmentally friendly R410a refrigerant, which complies with EPA standards for 2010 and beyond, and is accepted worldwide. It contains zero, ozone depleting R22 refrigerant that has been banned by the EPA for new equipment manufactured after January 1, 2010. The SRCOOL12K has a built-in evaporator that expels the condensed water through the exhaust duct, so there is no need for a drain tube, drain pan or water collection tank. Efficient, compact, self-contained and portable, the 120 Volt, 60 Hz SRCOOL12K is ideal for use in data centers, server and wiring closets, IT environments, home and small business offices, conference rooms, warehouses, entertainment centers or other venues with heat-sensitive equipment, particularly in areas that facility air conditioning can't reach. The SRCOOL12K not only adjusts ambient room temperatures, but can also dehumidify and filter the air, providing better air quality for enhanced equipment performance with minimal noise and power consumption. Designed for quick, simple installation, the SRCOOL12K plugs into a standard 5-15R outlet with no adapter required. Both a standard louvered vent (for general room cooling) and a directional ducted cooling vent (to direct cold air where most needed) are provided.

  • 12,000 BTU of cooling power can cool a 500 sq. ft. room
  • Uses environmentally friendly R410a refrigerant (contains no ozone depleting R22 refrigerant which has been banned by the U.S. EPA in new equipment after January 1, 2010)
  • No water collection tank required, a built-in evaporator expels condensate into the exhaust air stream meaning no drain tube, drain pan or water collection tank that needs to be emptied every few hours
  • Cold air output can be precisely directed through a 71 in. flexible tube to the 'hot spot' for better, faster cooling (standard louvered insert is also included for general room cooling)
  • Auto-restart feature retains all system settings and returns the unit back to its last operational state after AC power is restored
  • Compact, portable, self-contained design; ideal for IT, industrial, commercial and similar applications

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 92 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid portable A/C unit.... Works great, pumps out hot air through exhaust duct that easily fits in any window. Cools off quickly and no condenser to empty/fill. Pleased with quality so far, as I have not had it longer than a month yet. Unable to comment on its long term durability at this point. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it's supposed to So far everything has been good. It functions as it's supposed to and has dramatically dropped the temperature in the room it's in. June 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by junk Unit failed within first month of use, unit replaced free of charge but, the next units fan assembly blew apart within the next 26 months. Out of warranty; so, decided to trash and take my losses. Purchased a different brand. March 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst portable cooler we've ever used When they work, they're great. We're now on our THIRD unit in less than 2 years, and it's refusing to work now. Our first unit died within 3 months. The replacement they sent was DOA. The replacement for the replacement lasted about 8 months. April 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works exactly as Intended. Has Been Reliable. I am using this in an I.T. server equipment room to keep the temp consistently low. I am venting it through a plenum ceiling. This thing is great. It works extremely well and has been completely reliable. It can be noisy like any air conditioner but it's not bad. Seems to be well built. Very pleased overall. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WORKS GREAT FOR 1 YEAR THIS UNIT WORKS GREAT FOR ONE YEAR. IF THE UNIT HAS ANY ISSUE BEFORE THE FIRST YEAR IS UP THE MANUFACTURER WILL SIMPLY REPLACE THE UNIT. OURS LASTED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR SO THERE WAS NOTHING TO BE DONE BUT REPLACE THE UNIT. THEY DO NOT DO ANY SERVICE ON THESE. February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good. Very powerful It may be too early to write this review, because its important to see how durable and how long this nice unit lasts. Its very easy to set up, it has a small footprint for a 1 ton unit, and it really does blow out powerful, cold air. So, thus far, i love it. It is supposed to be able to run 24x7 inside computer server rooms all day and night. I dont run it at night at all for my purposes, as im using it to just cool a peice of equipment only during the day, as we shut the equipment off all night. So, im expecting for this unit to last a long time, and it should be well built. I love that it doesnt need a water tray to be emptied, or drainage system to get rid of the condensation and evaporation. It is a self contained unit. Thats great. Its a quality looking machine, so i feel comfortable putting it anywhere. Ive read almost all the reviews on this portable AC, from different sites, and it mainly got good reviews. However, the one major complaint was that when it was run 24x7, 365 days per year, it dies after about 10 months. AC compressors and units arent designed to run all day and night. So, i hope it last a long time, and is built strong enough to last several years. In the small amount of negative reviews that i read, the company was great to deal with, and if it died within the one year warranty, they had no problem sending the customer a brand new unit. I have many other portable ac units that i use for several of my businesses that run hot equipment all day. And, in the first month, this AC seems to be the most powerful cold air portable AC that i have, compared to my other units. I have some other 1 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1/2 ton units, and the blower seems to be more powerful than my others, and the digital buttons are very easy to use. So far after a month of rigorous use, it seems to be a well built, great unit. April 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we needed! It seems like we have the air conditioning go out about once a month and it usually takes two days or longer to get it working again. This Tripp-Lite Portable Air Conditioning keeps my computer room temperature where it needs to be and saves the servers! It's easy to use and operate. I now leave it running all weekend when I am not here to monitor the temp in the computer room. I HIGHLY recommend this unit and I wish I had gotten it two years ago! February 24, 2016
