Customer Questions & Answers

can lights be dimmed via remote?

Asked by: tina
Yes but you have to use incandescent and not the CFL's that they include. I do not know but perhaps dimmable CFL's or the Newer Dimmable LED's may work. Usually you need a different dimmer for CFL's and LED's but the newer LED's at least will sometimes work with a standard dimmer. In summary, in the lamp is a standard dimmer that is controlled by the remote control so incadescents are the only ones that will definitely work

I am installing this in a new patio I am having built. Is it possible to have one switch for the light and another for the fan?

Most ceiling fans are wired with two switches, one for the light and one for the fan. The instructions only show two power wires and one ground. Is it not possible to have them switched separately?
Asked by: Mitch
It is one remote control. There is a button on it for the lights. This fan cannot be double wired 12/3 or 14/3. It uses the same line to power the fan and the lights.

Controls

Can the fan operate on a switch or remote only?
Asked by: Tim
Remote only. All of these DC Motors are remote since the line voltage has to maintain the same level. I think that Hunter may have a fan that will use a wall control. I have also found some DC fans that have a remote control but it fits into a decora wall plate so it seems like it is not a remote but it is. This is a stand alone remote and that is the way it is for almost all DC motors. I did not think that I would like a remote but I do now. I use it outside and take it with me when I go outside. The electrical draw is so minimal with DC that I just leave it on.

What type bulb is used in this fan and how many?

Asked by: Ala1216
They give you two 13 watt CFL's and there is a label stating that is the maximum lamping. I do not know what incandescent or LED that would be equivalent to.

Titan 72 in. Indoor/Outdoor Oil-Rubbed Bronze Ceiling Fan and Light is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fan! So far, so good. We love the look of a modern, aluminum fan to fit our transitional-eclectic style living room. Installation was fairly simple. More importantly, the fan turns a great amount of air at 14 feet, at least for us, when speed is at IV and above. The fan was stable off the bat, and it has been very quiet. The light isn't bad for a ceiling fan, but don't rely on it to light a decent sized room by itself.

I installed the fan today and it went up without any problems and it looks and works great. This fan comes in two boxes, one for the motor housing and one for the blades. I've installed it in my covered backyard patio to replace a 48" fan which did not move the air at all. So far, this Titan fan does seem to move air so I can feel it. It's a little hard to tell just how good it will be today because it is a windy day but it is definitely better than the fan I replaced. This fan operates with a remote control which has to be synched with the fan but that was very easy and took just a few minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fan Very pleased with this fan. It is heavy duty and large enough to move the air in my shop. Love that it is easy to install and doesn't require any special wiring. Everything is controlled by the remote.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Titan Fan The fan looks impressive and puts out quite an airflow. It was very easy to install and balanced out perfectly with the initial installation. It is a bit expensive, but if it lasts for 15 years it will be a great investment. Several people have come to the house and commented on how great it looks. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moving air!!! I have a screened in porch that is 18' x 20'. I had a 52" fan out there that did a decent job of moving air but on a hot day it was not sufficient. I installed this 72" Titan and it made all the difference! It has 6 speeds and this fan at speed 3 is like my 52" on full speed. When you crank it up to speed 6, it is fantastic. The remote is nice to have and works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indoor Tropical gale This fan is awesome! After a bit of self education, I realized my existing fan was undersized for my space. Research of various outlets, beneficial finance offerings, needs, and desired features landed me on this model. Seems a bit much $ for "just a ceiling fan", but a much better price than the big donkey version that led me down this road. Well, due to proper sizing for the space, and the uber quiet, energy efficient DC motor, my first full electric bill after install dropped $60. It moves way more air with less energy use about our living space, that our A/C doesn't run near as much. Assembly and install was straight forward, and the ball cradle is a better quality and heft. I replaced the CF lamps with dimmable LED's, and dim fine with the remote. I dinged the value and appearance a star for the same reason, the finish. For the price, I would have liked an actual brushed nickel on the motor housing, downrod, and canopy. What you get is a faux nickel consisting of an aluminized metaflake bake enamel. Fortunately it is mounted high enough that it doesn't get scrutiny. All in all, very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for what we needed The person who put it up wants one for his place and my dad is taking down his previous fan (only a year old) and just ordered one like ours to put up. And, at over 11,000 CFM, it moves air on our outdoor porch.
