This seems like a quality pair of hinges. Previously I had some 24" springs mounted to the front of the gate to close it... And you knew with a loud bang every time the gate was closed. Now after installing these spring loaded gate hinges I was able to adjust the gate so it closed firmly and without slamming. Made of heavy duty plastic they should hold up to the weather without a problem. Switching them out was easy.. Since the gate was hung already.Adjust tension with a screwdriver by pushing down & turning. A good set of hinges at a fair price.,

ALTHOUGH MY GATE DOOR IS AT LEAST 85 LBS AND THESE HINGES ARE DESIGNED FOR 66 LBS. THEY SEEM TO PERFORM JUST FINE. I INSTALLED THEM ALONG WITH ORIGINAL NON SPRING LOADED HINGES THAT WERE THERE FOR OVER 3 YEARS. THEY COMPLIMENTED THE OLD HINGES AS TO HELP CLOSE THE THIS DOOR AT MINIMUM TENSION ADJUSTMENT. THESE HINGES SEEM WELL MADE AND BEING VINYL, I WILL NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT RUST. I DON’T KNOW HOW LONG THE SPRING TENSION WILL LAST, BUT SO FAR SO GOOD.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mark Super Nice Heavy Hinges
These hinges are made of a synthetic material that feels light weight but very strong. The spring mechanism that closes the door or gate is adjustable and seems very strong. This is a very nicely designed piece but it is slightly thicker than most other metal self-closing hinges so be aware before buying. It shouldn't be a problem in 99% of applications, but check just in case.
It comes with screws and instructions and is super simple to install. I love this product and I think it looks great. Highly recommended.

I do property management and have installed the other expensive D&D gate closers - and used 3 of them on each wooden gate which weights at least 80 lbs each.
They close each time and do not fail me - I would not use the lower priced D&D Gate Closers the highest price D&D Gate closers ( which are not sold at Home-Depot) can go up to 550 lbs. So these
I get a Dictator which is an anti-slam device which pulls the gate closed without slamming it - with this both there is no problem of it closing.
I have found it a good product and has not failed or broken - as many tenants go through the gate - and also does not need adjusting.
*** the rating applies to the higher priced D&D Gate Closers.

Just installed these vinyl hinges on my sheds heavy 4 ft wooden door, which was sagging a bit from wear of the steel heavy duty strap hinges after 15 yrs. use. These hinges are working fine and self-closing too. Maybe I should install a third hinge on this 90 lb. door to be sure. Time will tell on how well they hold up to the southwest sun and blow sand that wore the old metal hinges. Basically the plastic and ss spring mechanism doesn't need lube which should't accumulate sand and dirt. And they will not rust.

This pair of hinges provides an easy closure of your existing gate. I used them on a wooden garden gate without any associated issues.

Waste of $67. They advertise this as being for wood or vinyl gates but I contest to the wooden gate part. After building a new fence we bought 2 sets of these (so,we can put 2 on each gate). When adjusting the tensioner one of the hinges fell apart, and another "clicked" loudly as if the mechanism broke. They only work if the gate is fully opened. If the gate is opened up about 6 - 12 inches, it barely moves. My city inspector failed me, so off to HD I go to buy some heavy duty springs.

It says it works on wooden gate, but definitely does not. I tried to tighten tension until I couldn't anymore and the fence didn't budge when opened. What a waste of money.
