Possibly, but better to get one for a floor register which they also carry.

Answer:
I don't believe that this particular model would work very well as a floor register. The lever that controls the air flow sticks up and would be uncomfortable when stepped on, and most likely damaged. HD sells registers specifically designed for use on floors. I recommend selecting one of those. Good luck!

Answer:
I would not suggest it, as the lever that controls the damper sticks out from the vent and would be painful to step on.

Answer:
Not at the Albany, GA Home Depot. I bought what they had and it was only in the one color. That being said, they also carry a wide selection of spray paint colors. I chose Rust Open brown and spray painted it to match my needs. I had no problems in its operation. Remember, inventory is not the problem. The problem is lack of imagination in developing a solution.

Answer:
You will need to look for a 5.5"w and 11.5" "ceiling" register as they are listed by the dimensions of the opening rather than the outside dimensions. Not a bad idea to either take the old one with you or a photo of what you are replacing so you can compare in the store.

I have always used the measurements of the opening in the ceiling, wall or floor. Outside dimensions of the registers can vary and don't mean much. 12" X 6" is a fairly common opening for ceiling registers. I wonder if that might be the correct size? My experience is that most register boxes come in whole inch measurements. Sometimes they become distorted during instillation.

Answer:
That is not what these were designed for and that would only reduce your airflow. If you keep your HVAC return air filter changed as needed you should not need to use a filter at the vent. If you still need to filter the air flowing into the room from your central air then it is time to have your duct work cleaned by a professional.

10 in. x 6 in. 3 Way Wall/Ceiling Register is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for any room Easy to install. Looks great on ceiling. What I liked most is the way that with this configuration air flows different ways, not just one way as in old register. I am planning to replace all registers in my house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice product. I like the design I like the design. The center portion deflects the air down instead of straight out. Good for situations where direct draft is not wanted.

Amazing how some products are priced relatively low compared to other items in the store for sale. These air registers are very inexpensive, and are an inexpensive way to trim-up a room. Most people keep the same air registers on the walls and ceiling after painting, etc, but they are so cheap that I often redo the house with these when painting an older house. Often consider the two-way when keeping a sleeker look. The three-way are for more even flow in tighter confines.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A sturdy, well made Register. I bought this register to replace one that had been installed in a bathroom ceiling, and had become rusty and discolored. It seems to be well made, and installed easity. My only real problem with it is that it came with two installation screws that were hex headed, which I don't care for, rather than with rounded heads Fortunately, I had some round headed screws on hand.

The old register cover in the bedroom had been painted over a few times and the small handle that opens & closes the vent was hard to move. This new one fit the opening very well and has smooth handle operation to open and close it. I took the old one to the store to make sure I got the right size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product at good price. After the hurricane, while making repairs, pulled a register from ceiling and it was filthy and even had mold on it. I decided right then to replace all ceiling and wall registers (24 of them). Now all nice and clean. Well worth the small investment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Alternative to the Original I needed to replace a damaged wall register in a bathroom I was remodeling. This 10" X 6" unit fit perfectly and looks very good. It's surprising what a difference this minor change made to the appearance of the room.
