18 in. Ergonomic Mountain Mover Snow Shovel is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 181.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Plastic cracked Used this shovel for 2 seasons before the plastic shovel head cracked in two places. Goods: lightweight and ergonomic design works well. Easy to bend with knees only while keeping back straight. Great shovel for use in light to moderate snow and particularly good for porches and sidewalks. It would last years for those tasks. Cons: not good at digging up packed snow and not strong enough to handle lots of wet snow or snow plow berms.

It didn't occur to me try check it before I needed to use the shovel, but the blade is slightly curved. The means shoveling snow isn't very efficient. I tried to flatten the blade, but it didn't help much. Due to the curve, even using considerable finesse, the shovel is effectively about six inches. I might find another purpose, but this shovel is useless on flat surfaces, like a side walk or drive way.

Pushing light snow ahead of the shovel is not difficult, however lifting a shovel full of snow does weighs the same for any shovel. Too bad the shovel does not come with a laborer. Learned my lesson not to leave a plastic snow shovel outdoors in the summer sun as that cause the plastic to get surface cracks or creases which results in snow sticking to the shovel surface and that's why I had to buy a new one ( I don't remember where I purchased my old shovel).

I'm a 57 year old female who's had a life of construction, thereby both shoulders are bad and my back has been broken in the lower lumbar region. All that to say a regular snow shovel is really tough on my back and shoulders, but I REALLY like this shovel. I'm still not one to do things the easy way so much, so to have a shovel that doesn't cripple me is wonderful! It's light weight, but the scoop is heavy enough to clear the driveway after the plow comes through!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great...at first. When I first got this shovel, I loved it. I originally purchased it based on reviews here and because when I got to the store, I saw that it had a ratchet connection from the shaft to the shovel. I figured that this was a new design from Tru Temper so that if the blade ever wore out or the bucket cracked or something, you could just get a replacement part and not have to buy a whole new shovel. Anyway, long story short, without ever pushing in on the ratchet part (and therefore loosening it), the connection came loose. Now, anytime you have more than 10 pounds or so of snow on the shovel, the bucket comes loose and falls off when you throw the snow. It's a total pain in the rear and I expected more from a $25 shovel.

The leading edge of the shovel has a plastic strip rather than an aluminum one, which is what I wanted. I didn't notice it at first, but the strip made the shovel have a slight curve (u shaped) so that the center portion of the shovel (about 1/3rd) hits the pavement and the outer edges do not. I returned to the store and inspected all the outer like shovels and found that they were no better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shovel The shovel seems sturdy. It's all plastic. I was hoping that the bottom that scrapes the cement was going to be metal but it is not. I've used it a couple of times and it works nice. Not the greatest at breaking ice. I like the ergonomic shape of the shovel. I still have to bend a lot while shoveling and it can be rough on the back but I've always done it that way so I'm used to it.

This is a great snow shovel that has a plastic edge so it will not damage your driveway, sidewalks or wooden deck. The handle is nice and wide so your hand will fit with gloves on. The weak point is at the part where the shaft meets the shovel it just feels loose but it can be taken apart and tightened. The ergonomic bent handle does make it easier to use.
