Does the snow stick to shovel? Does it get hung up on rough surfaces?
Asked by: snowball
This shovel does not get hung up on rough surfaces (like, umm, driveways and sidewalks, the things that all shovels are made for but many do get hung up on), that's it's big selling point. It glides right over concrete. I like this so much I bought a second one for when my wife and I are both shoveling. I've noticed a tiny bit of snow sometimes sticks to it, but it's not been a big issue. Probably varies based on snow/weather conditions too. I highly recommend this shovel.

It didn't occur to me try check it before I needed to use the shovel, but the blade is slightly curved. The means shoveling snow isn't very efficient. I tried to flatten the blade, but it didn't help much. Due to the curve, even using considerable finesse, the shovel is effectively about six inches. I might find another purpose, but this shovel is useless on flat surfaces, like a side walk or drive way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Control First shovel sent arrived with a loose scoop bucket that moved back and forth on the handle shaft. Rejected. Second shovel sent had pronounced curve on the scoop's scraping edge so that it would not lie flat to clean any surface. It also had a twisted handle shaft so that any scoop full of snow would tilt to the right and want to fall off unless the user strained to keep it level. Rejected. The third shovel had a slight curve to the scraping edge but I kept it thinking I will not get one any better. This product not carried in Home Depot stores so I had to order online. If Home Depot did carry these in stores people would see these issues and NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Plastic cracked Used this shovel for 2 seasons before the plastic shovel head cracked in two places. Goods: lightweight and ergonomic design works well. Easy to bend with knees only while keeping back straight. Great shovel for use in light to moderate snow and particularly good for porches and sidewalks. It would last years for those tasks. Cons: not good at digging up packed snow and not strong enough to handle lots of wet snow or snow plow berms.

Came from the city and knew nothing about snow. Bought this Snow Shovel over two years ago and it is fantastic for shoveling while the snow is fresh and soft. Once the remains turn to frozen solid ice you need a metal shovel. Found that out the hard way when our son shoveled this past snow storm and it cracked. We liked it so much we ordered a new one right away. My husband glued the first one - holding fine. And we have used the second one already. Much easier on the back and arms then the straight handle type. Holds a lot of snow!
