I purchased two of these drains to install for a customer, in an existing garage floor. Of course cutting the hole was the most difficult part. I then removed the sand from below and replaced it with gravel for better water flow. These drains have multiple "knockouts" in the base for various size pipes if you wish to run them outside etc. I was not adding any pipe so I knocked out both knockouts, one at each end. I removed the top grates before pouring concrete around the perimeter. I noticed that they used stainless steel screws to hold the grates on and that adds to the quality, as well as being made from a very sturdy plastic.
Very happy with how it turned out and would use and recommend these.

The Trench Drain sold on-line requires no glue. It snaps together in a tougue and groove fashion and holds firmly. The product is then encapsulated in concrete and is "permanently" held in place. Simple, easy, effective. Once installed in concrete you can drive a truck over it according to the brochure. Great product.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JohnL This is NOT the same model they sell in the stores!!!!
BEWARE ! ! !
The unit they sell in the stores is completely different make/model.
The 5" unit in the stores is made of POLYPROPYLENE. This material is impossible to glue together properly. I guess if you put it outside imbedded in cement it doesn't matter but if you want to put it somewhere that you want no leak, then make sure you buy one MADE OUT OF PVC
The company that makes the one in the stores makes ALL their other widths out of PVC, only the 5" is made of POLY! Read: CHEAPO!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bruce Seems well made
Just dug a ditch and dropped in. Appears to be well made. Flanges on either side as well as holes for large landscaping nails should ensure it stays in place.

The drain installed easily. The removable end caps made it easy to cut out an end piece (wish they had included knock-outs at the end caps).

I had a 50' concrete driveway poured and needed a way to move the water away so it wouldn't end up in the building. This trench drain is heavy duty and should last a long time. My concrete contractor who installed it liked the ability to secure it in place with rebar and said the installation was pretty easy. It does a great job of moving the water and is tough enough to park on.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ttm8734 Awesome Product!
The drain was very easy to assemble. Don't forget the attachment for the side to hook the pipe up. It was also very user friendly with the concrete crew. All you had to do was set the drain in place and anchor with metal stakes. Very good product. The product was a little pricey to do a 16ft span in front of a garage door. However, it works great and it is nice and sturdy.
