can this tile be installed on existing tile

Asked by: tiger
Not all thin-sets (nor polymer modified thinsets) are capable of bonding directly to tile. Please consult the grout and mortar manufacturers specified for their recommended thinsets. Also, depending on the tile already installed, in some cases the tile must be mechanically abraded to insure a good bond - this is usually best determined with a "bond test. Customer Reviews

Glass Celeste 4 in. x 4 in. Unglazed Insert Wall Tile is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! We bought these to replace acrylic-type walls that surrounded our tub. We went to a local Home Depot to stop for new tiles, but the store's selection wasn't very interesting for ceramic tiles. So I decided to shop Home Depot's website and found these very pretty, ocean- or pool-blue glass tiles. Fortunately, they had a few of these at our local store, so I was able to view the real product before ordering. Since they didn't have enough of these in the store for our project, we had to special-order them and even though we were told it might take up to 2 weeks, they arrived within one week. They are kind of pricey at almost $3 a tile, but if you're going redo bathroom walls, you might as well do it well for the next 10 years at least. My husband is still working on installing them, and I guess the most difficult part has been cutting certain tiles to size (for corners and around the faucet, etc.)They are glass so you have to have special tools, and there's always the fact that that the glass can and will chip sometimes. My husband, who's by no means a professional tile installer, has been doing this project all by himself and he's doing a good job. I will post a picture when the project is all done!
