Answer:
Yes power is required however in case of a power failure (more than 15 minutes),the MH6 may be kept in use. However do not overfire to the point the heat-exchange tubes become red hot, as such could damage the tubes, breaking their seal.

For instance, can I mount one 18" above my fire place and then mount a second one directly above the first one? Would it be anticipated to pull additional heat from my stove pipe (I tend to have hotter fires)?

Answer:
I don't see why not, if you have the heat needed for both units to turn on. I suggest once a year to check, and make sure it stays clean (no soot build up). Over time you know how often to do this. But for the first couple of years check it.

Just bought a new US Stove 2500. Was wondering if this will work with the blower. Stove is going in the basement. Basement is spray foamed. 1500 sqft home built in 1993. Cape

Answer:
I am kind of confused with your question. It comes with a blower built in!
Your basement sounds like a natural setting for this product to work on a stove as is. Just hook it up and go man go! As long as it is not a pellet stove.

Answer:
For a wood burning stove pipe yes we recommend the Miracle Heat reclaimer. 18in above it reclaimes the heat that escapes out of the stove pipe. The theromodisk in it kicks on at 150 degrees and thats what it will blow out at

Answer:
The one I bought was for a 6". I had to buy adapters because my pipes were 5". It is OK to enlarge the pipes and reduce it back to the size pipe you started with. What you don't want to do is to reduce the pipe to fit the unit. This is all in the instructions booklet.
Pay attention, and buy the best fit for your needs.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful product I installed this unit a couple of weeks a go, when it was really cold out side. Since the install to my oil fired furnace, my basement temp has risen 10 degrees from a usual hi 40's low 50's. It is now in the hi 50's low 60's. This has made the living quarters more comfortable (especially on the feet). When I think of all the years we just blew that recoverable heat out to the squirrels. The only thing I had to do to the unit was to change out the temperature switch from 180 deg on, to a 100 deg on, and 80 deg off. Otherwise it would rarely turn on, for a furnace any way. I don't know how well it would work on a wood stove, but it seems to me it would be worth a try. I am satisfied. February 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JUst what I was looking for. Swapped this unit in while replacing my old stove pipe. After taking all the measurements I needed, I laid it out on the floor and screwed it together. Popped in on the first try. This helps keep my shop nice in warm in the winter. February 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by buy a majic heat instead poor quality ...magic heat will produce twice as much heat and is only 50 dollars more...i bought this reclaimer 4 months ago and it already blew the thermostat and just had to reorder one ...20 dollars for the thermostat is reasonable but 20 to ship it was insane for such a small and light part...oh and the fan flew off the spindle on the motor and made alot of noise and im just lucky i was there when it happened to stop it quick so it didnt damage anything ...i have a magic heat in my house and the miracle heat in my shop and majic heat is 10 years old with no problems and much more effiecent ...my house is 1800 sq ft and the shop is only 650 sq ft November 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by works well but needs more maintenance then described I have used this product now for 2 burning seasons. It works very well in recovering heat and spreading it around. Do not allow the pipe to get red hot where the thermostat is as this will damage it. Replacement is cheap and easy if you do. The major problem is that is to effecient in pulling heat from the stove pipe. This cause the creosite to condense on the air flow ducts. If you do no clean this regularly, it will plug up the stove pipe. A chimney sweep tool will not work. You have to remove the unit and clean the inside with wire brushs. July 25, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by miracle heat blower The miracle heat blower was easy to install. It is functioning okay. It does not seem to have the air flow volume that the magic heat, which it replaced, had. October 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best purchase ever This was easy to install and was what we wanted. We went to the store and the clerk told us about this product which helped us to decide to purchase it September 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works amazingly well! Can't believe how much heat this unit moves! It was fairly easy to install, but difficult to get exactly squared to the chimney so it looks a bit odd. I did need to find a way to keep the power cord away from the hot stove as nothing was included to do that. The thermostat is quite sensitive, will kick it on and off frequently when the fire burns low. Motor is much quieter than I anticipated. Only had it for a month, but so far it's an excellent value for the price. December 12, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works REALLY WELL I love this thing the only Problem I encountered was getting it turned in the right direction so that it would blow the heat into the den. The directions as to where to put the 2 drops of 20 weight oil could be just a little bit more clear as well but other than that it's great. And the best part is that it's thermostat controlled ( the thermostat is in the blower itself) September 27, 2011
