Answer:
Everything is included - nothing else to buy. I recommend that you set the main perimeter frame up then install three legs on one side - then put the tarip on. Raise the side with no legs and prop it up with the center leg then install the end legs and your done. First time is ALWAYS the worse...

Is shortening of the canopy possible?

I am only needing it to be half the size? Could I use four of the legs and not attach the other two? Would it still be functional? My thought is to fold the tarp around the top bars and double it up and hook it where the other side attaches.

Answer:
that would require some modifications other than folding it over. it is possible but you would need to find a way to secure the top to the end frame.
I would suggest that you find the size you need rather than modify this one

Yes, this is possible. If what you need is only half the size, why not just buy the smaller 10 canopy.

Answer:
To shorten the legs you would need a saw. Some people said they were plastic but I got metal ones. As for only using 4 legs, you can but I predict that it would sag in the middle area. using all of them would be the best.

No, there are no color options when you order it. However, replacement covers are simply the right size tarp so you could get white at that time.

Customer Reviews

10 ft. x 20 ft. Tarp Canopy is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 129.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A bargain with a few reservations. There are caveats with nearly all bargains. Some of the fittings remain loose and like many other reviews that recommend you drill through and anchor each connection, heed the warning. The stretched tarp won't place enough pressure on the frame to keep it intact during a heavy wind episode. If you aren't inclined to drill the fittings then tent cord tied from fitting to fitting will restrict them from releasing from one another. Also recommend using tent cord and two ground hog stakes for each leg if the unit is placed on your lawn. A good updraft will send this canopy airborne. Once secured properly, it's a joy to own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Canopy I had purchased this canopy about 2 years ago to use for my vehicle. This canopy is up all year round and is still going strong, even after the winters on Long Island, New York. What makes it a good one is because it has air openings where you tie the tarp to the frame for the wind to escape, compared to other canopys that cover the frame, and I believe that is the reason it is still up and going strong. When you look at the item, enlarge it to see where the ties meet the canvas to see what I am talking about. Overall an Excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Heavy Duty Tent Canopy We experienced many damaged pop up tents at our Citizens Convenience Center, due to strong gusty, winds from storms. However, when we purchased this tent canopy from your store, it looks like this is the last one that we will have to buy for a long time! It has proven to be quite durable in gusty winds and very cool during the hot summer days! The attendants on duty really love it and are thankful that we found something that was really weather resistant in all kinds of weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was more than a bit surprised My partner and I hosted my daughter's wedding at the house just 2 weeks ago. As part of the planning, we ordered this 10'x20' canopy on line from Home Depot, and had it shipped to a local store. I picked it up a few weeks before the event. The shipping box was a little beat up for sure, but I trusted my instincts and did not worry. Besides, we had many other chores to complete before the big day! Let me fast forward to the day before the wedding. I got up early and brought the 85 lb box outside. I also brought outside one of those 'instant canopies' that is fully assembled. (More on this later) I opend the 10'x20' canopy box and all was fine inside. Following the directions (and drinking my morning coffee at the same time), I layed out on the ground the gray powder coated steel tubes to form a rectangle. Two long, and two short tubes on each gable end, and four long and four short tubes for each 20' side. I also placed the coupling / angles where they would need to go, right on the ground. Remember, I am working by myself, and it is early in the morning...not even sure if the birds were up at that point. I assembled one section at a time. First the (2) long ends, next one gable end, then the center, finally the last gable end. The sequence took about 15 minutes all told. As I stepped back, I noticed I had a fairly good looking framework for a roof system. Next step was to attach the heavy duty laminated plastic cover to the frame work. The attachment method is done with the use of ball bungies. It may sound strange, but they allow just enough movement to make the attachment straight forward, and forgiving, at the same time. Next was the fun part. i picked up one of the long ends, and inserted the center vertical pole in the socket. The assembly seemed a bit rickety, but I perservered. Next came one corner post, then another corner pole. I had one side done. It was so easy to lift and balance, even for one guy by himself. (Remember that the laminated roof covering is holding all of the tube framing together.) I did the same with the other side....center first, then one corner post, then the last corner post. It was done! Finished in about 45 minutes. It was awesome! A good shade provider with only roof covering. There is no gable end canopy section so the strong winds can blow right through it. The design also allows for a cooler seating area when under the hot sun 5 Stars definately!! Oh...and that instant canopy....the one that is fully assembled....I needed to wait for the bride and groom and my partner to be home, all at the same time. It seems that you need Stretch Armstrong arms to lift and move each pole independantly. Those poles don't slide on the lawn very easily. If I had to do it over again, I would skip the Instant canopy and buy 2 of the 10'x20' canopies; especially if you plan to do it yourself!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable car canopy - Great value for the money We have used this car canopy for the past two winters in south central Wisconsin. Lots of snow, several windy days (sometimes very windy), and the canopy has withstood the elements without a problem. The poles are not the 2" diameter, but they have held up well. The canopy itself seems like new after two years of use from approx. end of October to the middle of March. Another review suggested this canopy works well because it does not extend over the sides of the frame. I agree, because the wind appears to pass through the small gap between canopy and frame while the snow remains off the driveway and vehicle. Note: canopy is secured with general-use load straps anchored to common pet stakes cork-screwed into the ground at the corners and in the middle of the frame. We periodically lift underneath the canopy to remove large amounts of snow, which slides off the sides to the perimeter area quite easily. Based on the price and performance, we are very pleased with this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost 5 stars. Easy to set up and light weight. Heavy enough once completed to feel solid. This is a 4 star and would have been a 5 star except for one thing. The tarp doesn't fit tightly all the way around the frame. If the tarp did then, I would have given it that one last star. It still functions well for what it was intended for. I have included pictures and some close ups of the corner piece of the tarp that's loose fitting. I adjusted the tarp to see if that would help but no positive results. Got some nylon string and blocks and tied it down. Also tied 2 of the corners to the fence for extra support. I like it and my family likes it to. Overall a solid 4 stars. It looks great except for that one corner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very srurdy canopy The assembly instructions were easy to understand but I took another route. As I planed to encase the legs in concret I did not attache the canopy canvus as directed. I assemblied the frame as directed, I installed self-tapping screws to each joint to holt the frame together in high winds. For the concret legs I use 8inch sono tubes 8 inches long, put each leg (6) in the tubes and filled with concret. A 60# bag of mix will fill two legs.. This adds 180 pouns to the frame. After letting the concret cure for three days i attached the canvus top by using 4 ropes 15 foot long tied along the 20 foot side, trrew the rope over the top frame and pulled the canvus over the top and finished by attaching the cords. I'm 80 years old and this job took me about 3 hours total working alone. We have had two heavy storms with winds of 45MPH and 6 inches of rain in a couple of hours. The canopy suffered no damage. It did not move in the wind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and price! I purchased 2 of these, and have heard before "easy installation". This was so easy to put together, I really didn't need the instructions, and overall it took me about an hour first time set up, by myself. It is made so that if you need to take it down, such as a craft show, etc., it is just as easy. Looks nice too. The "feet" can be bolted down if needed too.
