Customer Questions & Answers

where do i get a new pump?

Asked by: rob
Replacement pumps are serial number driven so you will need your serial number to order a pump. You can special order through Home Depot or contact the manufacturer directly at 800-643-8341.

How much does it cost to run this per day approximately?

Asked by: Snowlady
This unit runs on .62 amps. This is the number you would use to figure cost depending on how long the unit runs each day.

How much water does it hold and how long does the water last until it needs refilled?

Will it run all night while I sleep without having to be refilled?
Asked by: strray
About 3 gallons or so. When I used the unit in my area I would say around 6-12 hours or around that when full but yes i once filled it around 12AM and it lasted until I got up. When it runs out of water the water pump will shut off and it will just blow air like a normal fan. I also filled it around 11.30 AM today and at 4:27 I'm seeing the gauge at where I see it when I put my first gallon.

340 CFM 3-Speed Portable Evaporative Cooler for 170 sq. ft. is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome cooler this evaporative cooler is awesome, i just bough it and like its name says , it works like a champ, i live in a apartment, 1 bedroom , 1 bathroom and 1 kitchen, from the moment i turned it on it started cooling the whole apartment, i dont know if its because i just bought it but it doesnt leak water, it doesnt make noise, and it blows cool and maybe cold air. when i turn it to the lowest velocity, the tempeture is cool, in the medium velocity the tempeture is cooler, and for me the high velocity is already too cold , actually it starts getting cold in the medium velocity, i recomend this vaporative cooler 100%

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like it a lot! Overly impressed with performance. Into 2nd season. No problems. Cools our too hot bedroom quick. It's just great. Side-to-side ocilation distributes well. You have to drain it in the winter, and clean the tank and the media on a regular basis, but that's EZ. Buying a 2nd unit soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Satisfactory This is my second 'Evaporative Cooler' purchase, same brand and model. I have found it very helpful in cooling a small room (less than 500 sq. ft.) as well as a select area of my patio and deck during hot weather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Little Cooler Well I recently purchased this cooler a few days ago and I must say it works really well. The fan blows out lots of air and with the pump on the air is nice and cool, like a fresh breeze. The instructions don't say that you can't put ice in the unit so i went ahead and did. This thing wroks like an air conditioner when ice is added!! I use it in my room which is 160 sq. ft. and It cools it off nicely. My bedroom gets hit directly by sunlight at peak temps durring the summer and it works well. I live in Fontana CA and here the temps are generally in the mid 90's to low 100's and can sometimes reach over 110. The central ac for the house is sometimes not enough to cool my room off. Since an ac dehumidifies the air, you can use this cooler with the ac on and the windows closed and it works exactly like an extra ac without the cost of running an extra ac unit. If you want a low cost alternative to an ac this is the ticket. And if you just want extra cooling to go along with the central ac of your home, this thing is absolutely awsome. As long as you know how an evap cooler works you can get excelent results. A friend of mine is going to buy one on his next pay check. I definatly recommend this unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for single room sized areas I hate using my central air and in Utah it gets in the lower triple digits in the summer, but it cools off at night. So I needed something to get through the hot afternoons and warm evenings when the house is still hot. Just like some other reviewers, put some ice in it blows out some cold air. My living room is a little more open so I need to keep it a few feet away, but it makes it so its comfortable enough not to use the central air and is cheap to run, so I would recommend this product if you don't have too high of an expectation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultracool beats record heat The Ultracool 350 keeps my bedroom very comfortable even in the 100deg+ heat we've been having. I like the setting where I can set it to turn off after a given number of hours so that it doesn't run all night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great, not too noisy Keeps the room nice and cool, doesn't make a lot of noise like some coolers do. Will work just fine until monsoons come, but that is to be expected. If it is hot and dry where you are, give it a try. Just be aware it is only good for a room or two, will not cool whole house
