Rated 1 out of 5Â by Miles Bad shipment or bad supplier?
I purchased 3 sheets for a custom cabinet that was to be finished with urethane. Apparently, I got 3 bad pieces (what are the odds?) because each sheet had voids in the veneer, and at the cut edges the veneer would peel up due to NO glue between veneer and underply. Just bad quality finishing plywood at a high price.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Shashank Strong, well built and smooth finish
I bought this plywood mainly to put on my garage walls, instead of regular drywall, as I needed something strong to which I could hang tools and other heavy stuff. As others have mentioned, its important to use a fine tooth blade to get a smooth cut. I didn't have a really good blade, so had to use a block plane at few places.
I lightly sanded the areas that appeared rough, applied 2 coats of high quality latex primer, followed by 2 coats of high quality latex paint. The overall result was very satisfying.

I use this to make drawers for my cabinets. I like the surface finish when completed but....... Take care when cutting and use a high tooth count blade. The face finish will splinter at the edges. The last couple sheets of this I purchased had a LOT of interior voids which can manifest themselves along an exposed edge of a drawer (for example).

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SaintPatrick Great for cabinets and fine woodworking
The 1/2 Hardwood Plywood is excellent for all your cabinet and finish project needs where you want the great look of tight grained wood.
Using different stains and methods of applying the stains s a snap and there is significantly enough top grain so if you make a mistake a little sanding and linseed oil can correct the problem. I dropped a small can of stain and it splattered on a board I was getting ready to stain and I was able to salvage the piece without too much trouble.
The plywood cuts well with very little splintering of the veneer on the back side but I do recommend a high tooth count blade with reliefs when doing two sided cabinet work. You can use a tape on the cut line or even pre-score he cut to reduce this but my best success with a general cutting blade has been make my cuts after staining and a the first coat of poly. Two coats of poly makes a deep grained gloss with very little ( if any) sanding.
This is an easy to use wood product which gives great results.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by btstuff Excellent product, would use it again
I cut product using table saw with slightly dull blade and still cut well, no splintering. Even when cutting 11/2" rips the full 8' length with lap joints.
Did notice a strange oder that attracted flies while cutting. Don't know exactly what kind of wood(s) it's made of, but looks very nice.
Would recommend for indoor use only. Plan on using it again.
