Chose this 5 x 10 as the minimum size needed for sheet goods, plus lumber. Budget kept me from a twin-axle 14', but in using this unit since last fall, it is performing every task and I have stopped my search for others.
Ramp gate is handy as a backstop for debris loads and I have removed it occasionally when it isn't needed and traveling on the highway. Keep a tight bungee cord on each side running forward down to frame to reduce the rattle. Axle and 14" tires are not bothered with heavy work.
Unit has minimal tie-down locations. Several trailer deck screws broken/incorrectly installed at factory, and although not a deal breaker, can mess up fragile goods/cargo.
I'll paint soon before the factory paint gets too much rust.
I would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Wormwood1978 Great 5x10 Trailer
This is a great trailer for the money. It is highly unlikely you will find a new 5x10 trailer with wood decking and can trailer over 2,000 for less than the price of this trailer. I checked my local trailer dealer, Tractor Supply and Lowes; this was the best price for what I wanted. I did end up purchasing a spare tire and tire mount seperately. A recommendation if you do buy this trailer, do not put your license plate on the plastic license plate mount that comes attached to this trailer. The cheap plastic license plate mount broke off on my third short trip and I had to get a replacement plate. Invest in a metal license plate bracket or figure out some other way to attach your license plate so you do not lose it.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by KenD50 Good Traler with weak paint
I like the trailer and it's easy for my 4cyl truck to tow it. I can haul my riding lawn mower and snow blower with it, but I will need to modify it to haul my snowmobile, no big deal for the modification though. I'm sure haul building supplies with it as well and it appears strong enough for that task as well.
The only complaints I have is the finish is weak and I'm sure if I use it in the snow during the winter it will need to be painted soon. I also did not like the plastic license palate holder, so I replaced with a steel on for six dollars and painted it black.Too bad it didn't come with a spare tire, but I expected Home Depot would at least have a spare tire and mount for the tire It seems Home Depot doesn't even stock a spare tire at all. Oh well at least the price was right.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Odin good trailer for the money if you don't mind minor repairs, wiring and painting.
The trailer is pretty solid. The powder coating is thin.there is rust at the weld joints. I had to splice in new wire where the wiring harness was crushed under the frame and shorted because of how it was routed.Half of the screws that hold down the planks are stripped...This was the best out of 4 available at the Home Depot in Merrimack ,NH. The employee told me that you better check it out good, because when you pull it away ,It's not my problem anymore. There is no mention of a warenty in the booklet that came with it. Only the tires have a registration card.Good thing the price is low

Rated 1 out of 5Â by WRP840 Cheap Trailer, Early Ramp Failure
This trailer is supposed to be able to carry over 2,000 pounds and is advertised for carrying ATVs as well as other wheeled items. Don't believe it! After loading a side by side UTV weighing less than 1,000 pounds the mesh on the left side of the loading ramp broke after less than a dozen uses. Full UTV weight never on ramp at one time, never more than 2 wheels.. The flimsy mesh is welded to the bottom of the weight bearing side members with 8 spot welds instead of to the top like other trailers which allows it to flex and fatigue as ATVs go up and down. The mesh broke at 5 of the spot welds. I called Tarter to advise them of the problem and offered to bring the trailer to their factory so they could see the defects and maybe swap the ramp for another. The plant manager said owners sometimes have to modify the trailers to special needs. I said that carrying a cargo of half the rated capacity was not a special need, but he said that since the trailer was 3 years old they would not do anything. The trailer and UTV were stored in a garage and seldom used by a family member until I bought it from him last year, so the problem is not abuse from weather or overloading. I have also experienced wiring and lighting defects as well as the lost license plate mentioned in other reviews. I would not recommend Tarter products.
