No need to worry about primer or glue. Just cut old flange off and install new. Doesn't take much effort to push on. It seals and have had no leaks.
Reason for quality being average is because I believe the ring should be stainless in case of a leak. Also the thickness of the PVC and ring could be better.

We use these all of the time. They are great to fix the previous people's screw ups. Never had a problem with use. I just wish our local Home Depot would keep them in stock.

Basement linoleum was under toilet flange. Had to cut Flange off to get to the linoleum before installing new flooring. This was the perfect solution to removing concrete to install a new regular flange. My install depth was right on. It could prove a bit trickier, if there is a 45 degree right under the concrete though.

Very easy to use and solved my problem perfectly. The "professional" who had done the installation originally had done a terrible job leaving a tilted flange. That broke and someone else came along with one of those repair flanges that go on top and a ton of silicon sealant. I cut off the head of old flange down to the top of the pipe. Then I leveled the base by chipping away the mortar that had caused the old one to tilt. The new flange is now mounted level and the toilet if flat on the floor.

In the floor of my basement there's 3" pipe for a toilet. There's a PVC Wye being used. This product is too long but you cannot cut it because there is a groove the gasket sits in. What would make this perfect is if they vendor made a few different grooves so this can be cut to different lengths.
Other than that....
It would have been perfect which is the reason for the excellent scores in ease of installation and quality.
I would recommend if there isn't a WYE PVC fitting in the floor.
