I agree with randyd from San Francisco, please read the instructions and follow them carefully. The floor is easy to install and looks great! Yes, you do need to look at the store's sample board because the color is lighter than the online picture. The instructions say to shift the pattern at least 12 inches on consecutive rows. We found that about 15 inches works best and lines up the grout lines beautifully. Do make sure that you cut the planks where you don't have to be concerned about dust, though. We had green dust from the backing everywhere (our fault). Do wear a mask, you don't want to inhale the stuff. But since the padding is attached you won't need to buy additional products. We love our new floor.

I had purchased another laminate floor from another company, brought it home, laid out floor planks and couldn't believe the difference between the real thing and the sample. I couldn't live with it. Thankfully they allowed me to return it. I then turned to Home Depot and found the Alabaster Random Slate Laminate Flooring. I have to say how grateful I was for the reviews written by others. Although I found the sample to be what I was looking for, those reviews played a big part in my decision to order. I was able to see the whole floor through the eyes of others. The floor was delivered on a Wednesday and by Saturday, it was installed. Absolutely beautiful! I have received so many compliments from EVERYONE who came to see my finished kitchen. The way the floor locked in has given me piece of mind about it seperating. I loved the fact that I didn't have to go out and buy the padding, it was already attached to the floor. Also, the installer had such an easy time matching up each plank to the next one laid down. The only complaint I have is when I ordered the floor, I did not find an Alabaster molding piece online. When I searched, I only found the floor and the bullnose; therefore didn't order one. I went back to Home Depot to find one that would match and was informed that indeed there was one. Even though the floor is already in, I am still waiting for molding to come in so it can be completed. This really needs to looked at. Overall, I am very happy knowing that I can wake up to a floor I love and can live with. I have a very grateful husband too. P.S. The floor is lighter than shown online. BEAUTIFUL!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by JohnS Looks great. Easy to install.
The product looks a little different than the online picture color. So get the sample board from the local store. Otherwise, a high-end product. No need for pad. Goes over almost anything. I went over old 2x6 tongue and groove subfloor. I had to level it out a bit by shaving high spots, and using floor leveler for low spots. Easy to put together. Harder at the sides, edges, and especially final corners, but it does work. Nice random pattern. Grout lines lined up for the most part. Read all the directions ,and follow carefully.

This is a beautiful and superlative product. Much prettier than online picture; picture is not true to product beauty. Even though this flooring is pricey for square foot, it's quality and beauty cannot be overstated. I waited a long time to decide and finally install this product but I am delighted I finally elected to go with this Dupont Elite because the name does say it all. It is installed in a kitchen, dining room, bathroom and bedroom and it is super and completely durable in all these areas ... heavy furniture sliding across floor, refrigator sliding across kitchen floor into its place ... and no marring. There is a reason Dupont warranties this product for 50 years! It is not only beautiful, easy to intall, but so far, very durable. I understand why it is called "elite". Again much prettier than online picture, lending more to pinky, beige colors. If on the fence for purchase, don't hesitate ... lovely stuff! I really do recommend.

Had to order it online and it took a few days to get here. Once I figured out that you need to stagger the tiles 15-1/2" from one row to another, it went down pretty easy. Snapped together pretty easy although every once and a while, the whole row would unsnap while I was trying to get the last piece in a row in. Not that big of a problem, more like a nuisance. Once it was finished, it looked great. The pattern looked good and from the other room, it almost looked like it was real tile and not laminate. Overall, I would select this product again.
