Rated 5 out of 5Â by GDiaz Great product and system
First you MUST read the online instructions they cover sizing, assembly, routing, securing and bonding. Plus the manufacturer has videos. Very easy to install. After the local Gas company found 23 leaks in the old black pipe system, I redid everything in Home-Flex except the fist 20 ft from the gas meter which I re-doped and re-assembled the original black pipe. As for leaks absolutely none in the Home-Flex - tested at 10 psi for 1 hr with compressed air. Just passed final inspection from the Gas company, purged lines - no leaks - gas is back on. Let me clear up a couple of incorrect reviews - the black O-ring does not seal the fitting - it is there to keep gunk from getting under the jacket - see instructions for using tape if you lose the o-ring. Also replacement brass retainer ring, o-rings and fitting non-metallic gasket are available at HD both online and at stores that carry Home-Flex. A tip that may help you make a leak free connection the first time - I took a metal file to each cut end, removed any burs or uneven cuts before assembly - if you look at the instructions burs are a common reason for a leaky connection. Finally the 1 inch by 3/4 inch manifold in my photo is only available by special order from HD - you won't find it at the stores or on the web site.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by GrandFX CSST Great... Home-Flex Horrible!
STAY AWAY!! I purchased the Home-Flex CSST system to run about 75' of new gas line under my house. I spent the next 2 weeks trying to fix the leaks. If you torque the nuts well past the 62 ft-lb requirement, you can get the leaks to a minimum. I'd typically lose 1/2 psi per day if I started at 15 psi. It's enough to get you past an inspection, but not quality work. Yesterday I finally gave up and pulled it all out and replaced with Pro-Flex from Lowes. I've had the pressure at 15 PSI for almost 24 hours now and it hasn't changed at all. With the Pro-Flex system I didn't have to re-do a single connection; they all worked the first time. There seems to be enough complaints about Home-Flex that Home Depot should really pull the product so more people aren't wasting their time on this product.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by UnhappyCamper Unstoppable leaks. Avoid at all costs.
This seems like a great idea. Easy to run, fewer fittings to leak, simple installation. It sounds great, but the reality is this product is junk. Fewer fittings, yes -- but every one of them leaks. You eventually get the leak to slow down, so you're only losing about 1 psi every 10 minutes (starting at 15 psi), but it's enough to fail an inspection. Besides, who wants leaky gas pipes? My black pipe holds 60 psi overnight with no discernible loss in pressure. I don't expect as much from CSST, but it should be possible to hold 15 psi for an hour.
The instructions say: "Step 1: Gradually tighten fitting until leak stops." Problem is, the leak doesn't stop, no matter how much you tighten. Sometimes you tighten and it gets worse. Then you have to take apart the fitting and reassemble. Do that 5-6 times on a single run of pipe and you've eliminated all the time savings over black pipe, but you've spent way more on the stainless steel.
Not worth it. Run your gas in black pipe, or get another brand of CSST elsewhere that can make a proper seal.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by HDer Excellent product and very easy to use
Used this product to run an additional line for my gas grill unit outside. No more propane tanks! This Tubing was very easy to bend, attach, and run t the desired location. BE USRE YOUR GRILL IS THE RIGHT TYPE PROPANE OR NATURAL GAS! There are replacement units available for your type of grill. Check your grill manufacturer. Very simple product to use. Have someone that knows how to shutoff and bleed your line before installing a coupling tee!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by ThisOldGarageNJ Corners...No Problem
This is the first time Iâve used this in place of steel pipe. Itâs clean, easy to handle, snakes easily, flexes around corners well and is easy to see after installation. I used it to install a tankless water heater. Just drilled my holes and snaked it thru, There was no cutting, sizing and fitting nipples, Just put a connector on each end and youâre done, you donât need to buy additional fittings. If youâve worked with black pipe before you will be amazed at the time savings as well as keeping your hands cleaner and making it easier to work. A great and quality made product.
