Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This is not TPMS safe If your vehicle has TPMS ( Tire Pressure Monitoring System ) don't use any type of fix a flat or liquid tire sealant it will damage the TPMS sensor inside your tire. It says TPMS safe because the old formula would eat the epoxy like coating on the back of the sensor away exposing the electronics inside and destroy the sensor. The new formula doesn't eat the coating but it is a liquid and it will get in the hole that the sensor reads how much air is in the tire which in turn destroys the sensor. If you get lucky enough to not get the internal parts of the sensor wet then the fix a flat clogs the air hole that the sensor needs to have open to let the cars computer know much air is in the tire and yes that makes the sensor not work too. If you are stuck and have no other choice but to use it do so but get it to a tire repair garage have the tire fixed and get the fix a flat out of the tire ASAP. I do tires for a living and I have had over 50 customers come to me with broken sensors because of fix a flat and other liquid tire sealants. If your sensor breaks you need to replace it with another sensor or the light on your dashboard wont go out or stop blinking and yes you need another sensor it is now illegal to take out a the sensors as they are part of your vehicles safety system February 12, 2014
