Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but not great The Good: - Heats well, especially the back which lays against your skin. - Comes with the USB charging adapter which is a $30 value in it's self. - Looks great - Warm, even without the battery pack on. Not just a soft shell, but thinly insulated and a pretty warm coat on mild winter days. The Bad: - Battery pack sits on my left flank where it's in the way when I sit, my tool belt hits it, or get in the car. This is especially a problem if you're running the 3.0 A battery. - The on/off switch is inside the coat so you have to open it every time to adjust. - The on/off switch isn't red/yellow/green or something common so I find myself constantly clicking several times to get it adjusted correctly. - It's not work grade for most folks. If you're doing electrical, supervision, finish work, etc this is great. But if you're framing or the like it's going to get snagged and rip. I would have like to have seen a Carhart style coat. - It runs a little large. I'm 5'10" 185 lbs and a large was too big but the medium was too small. In this case, you want it to sit closer to your body so you can feel the warmth. Battery life: Neither good nor bad. 12v Max runs about 45 min on high and 2 hrs on low. 20 v 1.5 AH runs about 2 hrs on high and 3 on low. 3.0 AH would be best but I'm not willing to deal with a battery that large inside my coat. In all, I would buy it again but I would like to see Dewalt upgrade the features in future generations. I believed the Bosch was a better product, but then I don't own any Bosch tools. In the end, you have to go with the batteries that you already have. February 4, 2014
