I bought these before reading about them on the Home Depot web site. When we looked at them they looked so nice and were so reasonably priced that I was ready to buy 5 more boxes for our deck.
But luckily I held off and we decided to test the two I had.
First night, worked great.
Second night it rained but they still worked.
Third night, they turned on but one turned off in a minute. I tried turning it on and off no luck. The bulb lights for just a second and then goes out when you turn it on.
Really too bad. There was water in the housing from the rain, I guess it is shorting out internal circuitry.
Back they go. Oh well.

I purchased two sets of these lights as they fit the description of what my wife had wanted to install at the entry gates of our fence on each side of the house. After installing them they stopped working after the first exposure to rain. The design is flawed and allows water to get into the power circuit causing the lights to stop working. My son did a review search on these pieces of junk and found that this is the common complaint about them. Now I do not have the receipts or the boxes they come in. So I am out over $60.00. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT

Came across this pair of solar post lights by accident and was impressed with their look. The glass is a great touch and does a great job with diffusing the light produced. Unfortunately, as others have experienced, I too discovered that it's difficult to find a pair that works reliably.
I returned the first pair after one of the lights stopped working after a few days. I made sure to pick up a brand new package in exchange. This brand new box worked for two days and then one of the lights failed to work. This time around, I don't care and will live with only one light working.
These are classy looking lights but it's incredibly disappointing to see that I can't find a pair that works correctly. I don't know if it's due to rain or what but cheaper, plastic lights work a heck of a lot better than these things. A shame really as they look a lot more expensive than they are.
Why does Home Depot sell stuff like this? At least their return policy is very smooth.

Bought 12 and 5 will be returned when inventory is available. Faulty lights do not turn on at night, although their batteries are fully charged (batteries work fine when placed in "good" lights). Frustrating!!! Hoping the 5 were a bad batch and replacements will be fine. Will update if not! We really like the design.

This light has an expensive, elegant look which is why I bought the two pack. The ones I purchased gave off a bright white light and the light shining through the glass produced gorgeous patterns. The design of the light can be used either hanging or on a fence post. They worked for a several nights and were absolutely beautiful (until the rain came).
The lights stopped working when rain rolled off the top and infiltrated the under side where the battery and lamp were. I thought the problem was just those two lamps so I bought another pair. Again, they worked beautifully until the next rain came. Like the first two, these lights stopped working once the rain hit them. The lights are not cheap (meaning price)! "Solar" lights are supposed to be powered by the sun and used outdoors. I live in the desert with plenty of sunshine, so it doesn't rain here often. I shouldn't have to run outside, grab the lights off the posts and shelter them every time a rain cloud comes overhead. I hope the manufacturer works on making these lights more water tight.
