for what it is and the actual effective level of citronella, this stuff is great! Citronella alone is not as effective as combining it with some type of sprays, this is a well known FACT. I like using other OFF! products containing DEET for overall protection since I live in an area with high cases of West Nile. This torch fuel burns smoky, as it is supposed to, but still cleaner than many others, and with a FAR more pleasant scent than similar products, and it burns slower as well. I have used it in some small 4.5 oz torches and one fill lasts over 8 hours. I'll use up my wicks in six mini's before I use up the whole bottle of fuel! For WHAT IT IS, it is a great product I would highly recommend to anyone, and it burns a pretty deep orange and yellow, so it also sets the ambiance of an outdoor area beautifully. I will use this from now on.

I have a terrible mosquito problem in my backyard making it unbearable for my guests during the summer. I tried everything from regular citronella, backyard foggers and expensive mosquito traps. This has by far produced the best results. I fill up my tikki torches and create a perimeter around the party area where my guests will be. I make sure to light them at least an hour before they arrive so it will have time to rid those little pests. One thing that I did notice is that this fuel produces a lot more smoke than the regular tikki torch fuel. Besides spraying each of your guests with deet, this is the next best thing.

I dont know if it was the horrible 100 degree heat we have had in the DC area this summer or if this is the best tiki torch fuel ever. I usually am a magnet for bugs, I mean they love me but last night I sat on the deck for hours and I didnt even need bug spray.

At first I didn't think this would make that much of a difference, but it does. Use this in all of our tiki torches and it has made a big difference in the amount of bug bites my kids get. Plus it's more then $2.00 less then Lowe's so it was worth it.

This is completely ineffective against insects. It certainly doesn't repel them, occasionally the light from the flame actually attracts them. What's more, this fuel puts off a dirty, black, oily smoke that stinks. Don't waste your money.

Bought this today along with a Tiki Table Torch to put on my outside coffee table and after about 10 minutes got bit twice on my feet that were literally propped up inches from the flame! It may be worth the extra cash if you're trying to provide light, but defiantly not a form of Mosquito Management!

We put around our swing set. Had four different torches with this burning in them. The mosquitoes ate us up. They were burning for a few hours and still ate us up. My husband was standing beside the torch and the smoke was on him and the mosquitoe landed on him.

Paired with a Tiki Torch, this fuel immediately made a difference on a buggy porch. Much better than some of the other brands out there and is definitely worth the extra money.
