Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well but have to use Periodically - I like birds. I am feeding birds. Surprise, bird feed attracts rodents. I scatter this product around the ground, down there blasted holes and in with the bird seed. The rodents don't like the pepper and the birds don't mind it at all. READ THE LABEL. Rain etc dissipates the product. When the rodents return, I reapply this product. It stops the unwanted visitors for awhile which is what I'm looking for. January 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stuff!! I have tried everything to keep the moles from turning my yard into swiss cheese..Uncle Ian's is the only thing that has worked..a little tough on the eyes and nose if it's windy..but outstanding product!!! June 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Moles no more! I have been using Uncle Ians for about 5 years now. I mix with fertilizer and apply once or twice a year. After the 1st use, I had no more problems with moles. The neighbors did, but not in my yard. I now apply only once yearly. On occasion, a mole mound may show up, but that's all. They quickly learn they don't like my yard and go away.. I had tried almost everything including many of the old wives tales and nothing worked until I discovered this product. Try it, you'll like it!! September 19, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stuff I have used this stuff for about a year now and have not lost a plant since. It has kept the gophers, rabbits and even the javelina out of my yard. Of course the neighbors are getting them now. Only recommendation is do not spread this on a windy day and keep it low to the ground. Nasty stuff around the face. June 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great on Squirrels We have a small squirrel problem, one had burrowed under the house. Applied as directed and with in a week the problem was solved. It did not harm the squirrel just persuaded it to move on. May 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solved the Gopher problem in my yard I have had occasional Gopher problems in my front and backyards. I tried a half dozen different products and none worked like this one. You need to read the directions carefully and apply the product as directed on the label. My front yard has been Gopher free for 8 months. My backyard was Gopher free for about 4 months; but they recently resurfaced after a few weeks of rain that we experienced. A couple of applications of Uncle Ian's and the gophers have retreated again. For best results, you may need sometimes to re-apply the product two or three times with 4 or 5 days in between each application. April 12, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Might work in some conditions Gophers have been a constant nuisance in my yard for the last 10 years (no experience with moles). There are a few things to note about this product. It contains chili powder which will irritate your hands if you have any small nicks or cuts. In addition, I suggest to sprinkle the product close to the ground and out of the wind, it will burn your eyes. As a side note don't make the mistake of using the same hand you sprinkle the product with, to wipe your face. The results seemed inconsistent, some times it seemed like the repellent kept gophers away then other times not at all. In the end, after 6 months of use and two bags of product I still had the same number of gopher holes and broke down to hire a professional to treat the problem . March 4, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't work for me - may work for repelling visiting moles I give two stars, because during the time I used this product, I did see increased mole activities neighbors' yards, which mean the product did discourage the moles to stay. This product might work to kick visiting moles away, but doesn't work if the mole has settled down. I have very serious mole problem in my back yard. Mole actives lasted two month, some mounts are more than 2 feed diameter. Since mole removing services are very expensive, I decided to give this product a try. After four days, I used up one bag and successfully decreased mole activities in my back yard; I also see a lot of new mole mounts on my neighbors' front yards. I bought another bag and continue using for two more days, and then gave up - the spicy ingredients made my nose upset. A few days later, I found moles are still in my backyard, they just abandon the feeding tunnels that have this repellent, and begin creating new tunnels. For some reason, they also stopped visiting my neighbors' yards. I attached a photo shows that two weeks after stopping using the repellent, there are lots of giant mounts in my lawn. Note that there is also a sonic device in the picture. Conclusion: If you don't want to call contractors, buy and use repellents as soon as you see new mounts. Nothing works after the moles are settled down. September 9, 2012
