The all metal 36 inch Nifty Nabber by Unger is a handy tool for hundreds of purposes.
Need to reach that cup at the top of the cupboard? Drop a tool through the engine bay? Can't get to the meatball the kid tossed under the table? Do you want to win a long distance milking contest? How about reaching out and giving that special someone a pinch from across the couch? Is your soda just a bit out of reach from the recliner? The Nifty Nabber is your tool! (OK, I really don't recommend trying to milk a cow with it! )
We have a small waterfall feature and this is the bees knees for reaching to the bottom and grabbing rocks, kids toys and anything else that falls in without getting an arm soaking wet. It's also great for grabbing dropped tools in the garage and placing knick knacks on high shelves.
The tighter you squeeze the handle, the stronger it holds. Squeeze lightly and it holds without crushing. Perfect if you need a gentle touch such as putting Grandma's antique star on the tree.
All aluminum alloy construction for the jaws and handle means it won't break easily and it won't rust if used in wet applications.
The plastic operating grip is a comfortable size and allows for secure holding. Because of the great operation handle design it can be used with one hand.
The jaws are covered in a thick grippy rubber and one of the jaws has a small magnet inserted
It's a great tool and a great bargain. Much better than cheaper all plastic versions. A welcome addition to the tool set.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Helen VERY Handy Gadget Whenever You Need a Little Extra Reach
I found a use for the Nifty Nabber the second day I had it - reaching a box of popcorn that had slid to the back of the top shelf in the cupboard. I was easily able to bring it down, with the box held securely in the rubber grips of the pincer end. The grips are also grooved, supplying a good surface to hold just about any item. The plastic handle works the pincer end smoothly as well, with relatively little push needed to operate it. The pincer end is approximately 5 inches wide and 4 inches in height, able to grip a wide variety of objects.
I can definitely see the Nabber coming in handy once the weather clears and I can get outside to do my yard work. I highly recommend this device.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by daveb714 Nice concept but not very functional
I don't have too much use for this item because I am over six feet tall buy my wife is a foot shorter and can definitely use this. I think the concept of this grabber is good but the execution of it is not. This grabber is okay for picking up lightweight items but I would never trust it to pick up heavier or fragile items. When you grab something with this, you need to squeeze the grip and hold it until you can grab the item with your hand. If you lessen your grip at all, the item will fall and if it's fragile, probably break. Also, the pole is 36 inches in length so once you grab something, it becomes somewhat hard to control. I tested this with items of various sizes and weights and found that only the lightest items felt as if they were under control when I grabbed them.
There are a couple things that could have made this better. On the grip, there should be a switch that locks the claw into place so once you grab an item, it would not fall out of the claw. It would also be good if it had a second handle in the middle of the pole to help you in controlling it if you pick up a heavier item.
Don't purchase this item unless you are okay with your belongings falling out of the claw. Like I said before, this is a good idea but I can't recommend it.

I originally got this to try to remove some weeds that were growing out of my gutter. It did strip the leaves from the stems, but it was not strong enough to grab the roots out since the weeds are so tenacious. That was kind of disappointing, but I am finding other uses for the Nifty Nabber. I have cabinets that go all the way up to the 9 foot ceiling in my kitchen, and the Nabber can easily grab items from the very top shelf. It is quite lightweight, and the rubber grips do a good job of holding things until I get them down to the counter. It opens only about 6 inches wide, but that is wide enough for most cans, bottles, and jars.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OCEANSIDE I'm impressed. I can pick up a cent off the floor with this thing!
This device extends your reach 3 feet. It is a metal pole that is sturdy.
The handle is plastic, but has a comfortable grip.
The pads at the end have grooves and I was very impressed when I was able to pick up a cent off the floor easily. The grips locked on and it is actually easier to use this than your fingers.
I'm not sure what the weight limit is. I was able to lift a 2 1/2 pound box from the shelf but you need to have a good grip on it and hold it firm.
This is a great tool for picking up items from both the ground and from the upper shelves in your kitchen.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mikkel1955 It even picks up paper.
This is a well built grabber. It is solidly built with aluminum pipe body, and heavy duty grabbers. It also has a magnet inbedded in the side of one of the grabber, but I am not sure how much use that will get.
It works great for getting jars/cans off of a shelf, as expected. But Mary found another use for it. It works great for picking up the dog toys. It will also pick up sale papers, or scraps of paper off the floor. It even worked on the stuffing from a toy the dogs destroyed! It is going to see a lot of use around here!
One thing I have to figure out is if it is possible to change the trigger to close the grabber to be positioned like a pistol grip instead of being parallel to the shaft.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rusty Perfect for my wife's small stature
Very well made grabber that picks up just about anything. And now my wife can grab the stuff off of our high shelves since she is only 4'9". They seem to have thought if every conceivable pickup situation when they designed this grabber. Very easy to use even our grandkids can use it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EleEng This is defintely the best gripper we have ever owned.
Over the years it has become more difficult to bend over to pick various objects up. We have purchased a number of low-priced reach extenders/grippers to help solve this issues. However, they begin to break after only a few months of use; normally with the rubber tip grips snapping off. The nifty grabber is heavy duty and well-built. It has had no problem picking up the Sweet Gum tree balls, pine cones, and twigs that litter our yard and must be cleared prior to mowing. It can also pick up heavy objects that we would not even attempt to do with the lower-priced grabbers. Having a magnet imbedded in the jaws of the nabber is a real plus for picking up small screws and parts that may have fallen into the grass or onto a floor. This is a fabulous tool for everyone and not just those of us getting up in age.
