The Unger 4 ft. Waterflow Pole with Shut-off Valve is best used with a Waterflow brush that attaches to the end. The other end is attached to a water hose and the pole has an on/off switch that is removable. The 4 ft. length allows you to reach farther than the hose alone and the brush adds scrubbing action to get the job done. I have two Waterflow brushes one a stiff yellow one for scrubbing floors, decks and brickwork and a new blue one with soft bristles for cars and around the outside of the house The pole is light weight aluminum with plastic fittings. The on/off switch did leak a bit at the connection and refitting the washer helped. Finally, it can be used without attaching it to a hose as an extension pole and has a standard broom thread. It is well made and should hold up nicely over time.

The Unger 4 ft. Waterflow Pole with Shut-off Valve is a great accessory for my Unger Waterflow Scrub Brush (with Squeegee). Although it doesn't extend like some of Unger's more expensive poles, this pole allows me to clean things that are just out of my reach and is also perfect for helping me clean my garage floor and deck (jobs for which the extending poles would not be suitable).
Water flows easily through the pole from a standard garden hose, and the on/off switch on the pole is a nice feature that gives me localized control over the water flow. The only slight issue with this feature is that, when the switch is set to off, the water pressure causes some water to spray out of the threaded connection (I think this is because the female threads on this pole aren't quite long enough to fully cover the male threads coming out of the hose). I don't consider this to be a big deal, though, since I tend to get wet when cleaning things (so what's a little more water spray going to hurt)?
The pole is constructed from extremely lightweight aluminum and plastic. I recommend not throwing this pole around, though, because the lightweight feel makes me also think that the construction isn't going to hold up to too much of a beating.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dundee Gets the water flow to where you want it and has easy shut-off
This water flow pole is a real asset for cleaning windows that are higher than your arms can reach. It has a nice feature that allows you to shut off the water on the pole rather than running back and forth to the water shut off valve. The pole can also be used with other Unger products depending on what you are working on. There is a multi-purpose soft bristle brush that you can buy separately that will screw onto the pole for washing the car. There is also a nice window washer with a squeegee that can be purchased to work with this product that will screw onto the pole. It enables you to get the water to where you want it and to stop the flow of water when needed. This is very lightweight, useful and economical.

The Unger Pro waterflow pole is a great help when you need a few feet of length to get your outdoor cleaning projects done. When used in conjunction with the Unger attachments found at your local Home Depot, most jobs are done with ease. I'm able to reach the high places, such as eaves and roof trim pieces on the house without having to use a ladder. I can effectively clean the top of my tall SUV with the pole and attachment without a problem. The pole has a very comfortable handle and half way up the length is a very comfortable foam sleeve to help grip the pole. The aluminum and plastic construction makes the unit light in weight yet gives the feeling of sturdy material. I particularly like the "Rocker Style" on/off water valve. A quick flick of your thumb will start and stop the flow of water even under great pressure, no need to use 2 hands to switch the flow. I'm looking forward to finding more uses for this pole in future projects.

I used this waterflow pole with a brush to wash my car. The pole attaches to the hose and has an on/off switch for the water on one end. It made washing and rinsing the car really easy because I didn't have to keep switching from a sponge to the hose to wet and rinse. The water flow is really powerful. I can see using this to clean all kinds of things outside. The only thing that I would change is the on/off switch because when I was reaching over the top of the car, I kept hitting the button and turning the water on when I didn't want to.

I'm 6'2" and would prefer a 20' pole, but 4' doesn't kill my back; I have the Unger "soft" brush that is softer-than-feathers-soft, so there's no point in trying to put force behind it; it's a rinse and near-polishing brush with squeegee; rather than leaning in on it you actually lean back a bit to keep the weight of the hose off the brush.
I haven't had any problems with the valve nor threads, but I rarely shut off the water. If you want to tickle your gelcoat, this pair can't be beat.

I've used this pole with the soft brush attachment to clean my corrugated roof and it cleaned very well. The water flowed easily. My only problem is that I kept hitting the on/off button when I was scrubbing so I had to adjust my grip. Thankfully the weight of the pole and the brush are still light enough together to get the job done. Other attachments besides the brush are available.
