Answer:
The dimensions are under "specifications" and are true at 33 in high and 39 in wide. We are well pleased but suggest caution when opening the doors as the open unit is front heavy.

Answer:
Depends on the size of the opening. If it fits inside the opening (39 wide, 33 high, edges are 29 ⅛), otherwise it will stand in front .

Funny you should ask. We are pleased with appearance and fit with a stone fireplace. You, of course, will not have a flush fiit.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 60 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty, but not very carefully made This is a really pretty, simple, fireplace screen. The welds are sloppy, the doors are crooked and don't meet in the middle, the paint job is messy, and the screen has imperfections. Although it was very well packaged, the left door is bent and the screen slightly dented, apparently it was packaged with those defects because the package was not damaged at all. Basic quality control to avoid these issues would not be costly, but...it seems from other reviews that they would rather take returns than watch their production a bit more carefully. That being said, it seems sturdy, it fits my fireplace, and I like the way it looks. I can touch up the paint and ignore the other imperfections because it was well priced compared to others I found online, and appears to be the exact same item. I didn't want to pay twice as much and get another sloppily made piece. June 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fireplace screen Heavy metal looks perfect on outdoor fireplace used once held up well with large fire April 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very dissappointed. Would not recommend Ordering and shipping were great. Assembly not difficult. I ordered this as a modest priced fireplace screen and paid more than the lower priced ones thinking I would get better quality. As the pictures show, it is warped or maybe just poorly made, but the doors don't close and align correctly, and the braces for the back are different lengths, therefore it won't sit flush again the fireplace. I am very, very disappointed. I didn't want to take it back because it is too heavy for me to lift and take back easily, which is why I had it delivered to my home rather than pick it up at the store. After trying to get it re-boxed for a home pick up/return, I am giving up and will lug it back to the store. Customer service was very nice about accepting the return when I called, and explained how to do it for UPS pick-up, but it will be easier just to get help and take it back. October 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value--perfect for my needs! I recently painted my brick fireplace and did not want to replace the outdated glass doors and rusty pull screen! I found this lovely, simple screen at HD and am thrilled with it! Very easy to put together--did it myself in 10 minutes--and works like a charm...the main reason I chose this design was because I wanted something clean and simple and the big bonus was the hinged doors! So much easier than moving the entire screen out of the way! I am very pleased with my purchase... August 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value, but double-check the size This is a very nice-looking screen that's a good value for the money. Like: The handles for each door (careful- they get hot), and the magnets that allow them so close securely. Dislike: It isn't exactly the width it was purported to be, so it's a couple of inches smaller than I wanted. Also, because my fireplace has a "lip" of tile around the bottom, this screen won't fit flush against the fireplace. There seems to be a half-inch of play keeping the feet from being level. Not a perfect product, but certainly worth the money. December 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Defective Very disappointed to find the screen was mounted crooked, and crimped. Had to return to the store. January 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The fireplace screen was exactly as I expected it be. The fireplace screen was exactly as it was represented. Easy to attach the extra parts, and it fit and operated just perfect. March 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Screen I priced this screen in several stores including PB. Their prices were alot more money and this screen is beautiful and solidily built. Great job HD I really love the look and the quality of this screen. I don't have any issues with it tipping so I can't talk about the others problem with it. Thanks! October 1, 2011
