Yes this unit will Easily search for frequencies typically used by Police, Fire/Emergency, Marine, Racing, Civil Air, Ham Radio, Railroad, CB Radio, and Weather

Good Day Uniden Customer,
yes this model does come shipped with the needed USB Cable to charge rechargeable batteries. However the batteries are not included.
