Answer:
Good Day Uniden Customer,
it's recommended that you mount the cameras so they are not in direct rain however you may mount them where you see fit. on a Post under the eavestrough or overhang from your roof or the side of the house... ETC.
Thank you for choosing Uniden.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! What a great buy! The night vision exceeded my expectations and have provided me with a sense of comfort. July 28, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for the Price We have had this system for about a year, and for the price, it works well. It does not have the clarity or frame rate of a wired system, but is much easier to set up without having to run data wires through walls and ceilings. You still need a 110v access for the cameras to work. The docking station makes viewing the live images, or reviewing recorded images a convenience as the 7" screen monitor runs on rechargeable batteries. The night vision has good range, with video quality degraded somewhat at night with slower shutter speeds, but is still useable. The system records to an SD card, so it can be put into an SD card reader and downloaded to a computer for storing videos and opening space on the SD card to continue recording. You can view your cameras in real-time from an Android-based phone or tablet, an iPad or iPhone, or Windows based computer. Unfortunately, Uniden has yet to create a Mac based software solution to view the live images. If you need the best video quality and image resolution for your security needs, then spend more money and get a wired system, otherwise this system will work for the majority of consumers. For the price, this is a very good system. August 27, 2014
