Customer Questions & Answers

Can we install the door the other way?

We have a door that opens inside with the knob on the right facing the door from outside. We want to install this door so that it would open outward to the left. That would make both doors opening the opposite ways; screen opens to the right and door opens to the left.

This door is reversible.

Can be used with patio sliding glass doors?

I wanted to replace our sliding screen door with a hinge door. WIll this still work when I have a glass sliding door?
Asked by: Koba
Thank you for your interest in our Coronado Hinged Screen Door. We do not recommend using this door with sliding patio doors; the Coronado is only available in a single door configuration. I hope this information is helpful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't do it! I should have believed the other negative reviews, This was a piece of garbage. The only reason I didn't return it is that I live over two hours from the nearest home depot. In all honesty it might have been OK if I hadn't had to change the way it swung for my application. Mind you it is supposed to be able to do this easily...not. The inserts in the door spin freely making it impossible to tighten the hinge channel . To make it worse there is a lock nut between the hinge channel and the free spinning insert. After a couple of hours of trying everything I could think of I took the lock nuts off and threw them away substituting a 3/8 wooden dowl to keep the expander from collapsing too far, and holding it at the right distance..... Finally got that solved. The next challenge was cutting the channel expander and the hinge channel . The methodology in the directions said to use a hack saw or tin snips. Ever try cutting aluminum channel like this and having it look good? This is a screen door and by definition it shows. I won't go into missing screws or directions that tell you what size hole to drill that works out to be just large enough that the spring that releases the latch drops into the hole and won't allow the handle to work properly.... Solved that one with a washer. But all in all for about 5 hours work, I should have returned the door. I will pay closer attention to product reviews at this site from now on. You should too.
