Answer:
Hi Ron-Thanks for your interest in our Su Casa Security door. The SuCasa has an expanded metal screen which is welded in place. The expanded metal screen differs from insect screen in that it has diamond shaped openings that are spaced wider apart than traditional insect screen. The diamond shaped openings measure approximately 3/16" in diameter. I hope this information is helpful to you.

To add to comments. If you are installing the same door on the same frame drill new holes for the one-way screws in different locations on frame for re-installing. This is much easier than removing each one way screw all the way out. I used a sawzall to cut the screws after grinding the heads off. Answer:
I think you must grind off the head of the one-way screws, then pull the door off, then use a lock-pliers or other pliers to back out the one-way screws.
You can use a metal-cutting blade on a circular saw or grinder, or - if you must - a grinder bit on a drill (that will be tedious, though).

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dummiest door to install!! Poor quality!! & yet they dont replacement parts or fitting sockets for installation! Literary took me 4 days too install it. Like OMG August 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, sturdy security door Nice door and easy to install - but the mesh screen will not keep out mosquitos or smaller bugs. I had to install a mesh screen inside their screen to make it useful. The door however is fairly sturdy and was easy to install by myself. August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Gaps in both sides of door! This door was installed and there are gaps in both sides of the door! I don't understand how that happens when they come out to measure before the install! They say they'll see what they can do. I remain hopeful about the Home Depot company, but we'll see. =/ February 4, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Resulted in Break-in If youre in a safe neighborhood, this is a great buy as it is the cheapest you can get. But in inner-city neighborhoods like mine, you can easily get burgalrized if you depend on this door without having a handle-less dead bolt. Look at the picture I uploaded on the right---------> November 23, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A Fine Product For The Price, But… This is just your run-of-the-mill security gate, made slightly stronger than the one it was replacing. January 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Black Security Screen Door I have purchased 2 of these Su Casa Security Screen Doors. They allow excellent vision and don't obscure the glass design in the new front entry door I recently purchased or the nine light door that I bought to replace our old door going to our deck. In fact these beautiful doors actually enhance the appearance of my entry doors and I have received so many compliments from friends and neighbors. I have 3 big dogs and even though they scratch at the door when they are excited by something outside they have not been able to scratch the finish off the door. I am very happy with these doors as I now can leave my front and back doors open to get a nice cross breeze and allow fresh air into the house. There are some little quirks when being installed. The hole in the framing for the dead bolt has to be filed a bit for the dead bolt to perform naturally but that is minimal extra work. After buying these doors I doubt I would ever go back to an all glass security storm door. These doors work well with or without the optional closer that is purchased separately. I had a closer put on the front door as I wanted the door to automatically close because of our dogs. I didn't bother with a closer for the back door. I figured the tension of the closer would interfere with carrying stuff out to the deck from the kitchen when cooking outside on the barbeque grill. I am very happy with the performance of these security doors and gladly recommend them to friends and family. No need to purchase the bug sweep or one way drill bit accessories when purchasing these doors. The bug sweep doesn't seem to fit or it didn't for either of my door installations. The optional one way drill bit attachment according to my contractor needs to be used with a hammer drill to screw in the "large" screws when installing the door. He stated the drill bit doesn't fit any of the hammer drills. Another plus is that these doors are reversible so no need to worry about left or right hand out swing. May 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good for the money and it's appropriate use. This is not a maximum-security-prison door, but it's adequate for it's purpose (protecting an entry door which has glass, allowing an 'open-door' feel in summer with the security not available in a simple screen door). A few tips: 1: Mount the door with 3-4" standard phillips or 'star' screws first; pre-drill the holes and then use the standard screws until you're sure it's mounted correctly . . . THEN replace 1 screw at a time with the one-way screws provided. Why, you ask ? Because if you're anything like me you'll make a mistake as you're mounting the door and you REALLY don't want to take out any one-way screws. 2: The one-way-screw driver supplied is OK, but it's either too soft (mine got a little bent and couldn't drive the screws - because those screws are BIG) or the paint on the screws causes it to slip. You can try mounting the door with the supplied driver, but you might have to buy the one-way-screw driver available at Home Depot . . . it's pricey ($17-18), but works much better. 2a: Put soap on the threads of the one-way screws before you drive them. 3: If you do have problems with the driver (like you can't get the one-way screw down tight) reverse the screw out using a lock-pliers or the like and then use a new screw with the Home Depot driver. Fix the problem (maybe your pilot hole is not large enough?) and then drive that monster screw in ! 4: The top piece is not critical; use those screws for the sides if you have a problem with the driver. 5: The hinge side bar does not have to sit absolutely flat on the trim; mine had to extend onto the curved portion of the trim and it is OK. The lock-plate side is a bit more critical and you have to be sure the lock and deadbolt work correctly before using the one-way screws (remember: use normal screws first!). 6: We put a keyed G1 (security grade) deadbolt and an inexpensive no-key (interior) knob on the security door, then put a G2 keyed knob and an inexpensive no-key deadbolt on the door: the G1 on the security door offers the most protection, then the G2 on the main door gives further security and you don't have to have 2 sets of keys. 7: One more note about installation: the upper screws are going to be difficult to drive because you'll need to get your weight behind the drill-driver and you may have nothing to brace yourself against . . . . . be prepared to have something very sturdy to brace yourself against at that height as you drive them. Have fun, you'll be ok. January 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Screen I'm glad I purchased this security screen. It looks great on my door and gives me the secure feeling I desired. It's also great to be able to leave the front door open during the day for the fresh air and not be concerned about anyone coming in. When I called the store to order the screen the representative in that department helped me look through the options on my computer so I felt confident with my purchase. He also connected me to the pick up department where that representative was also very helpful. This purchase was easy and effortless. Christine B January 13, 2015
