Customer Questions & Answers

Does this screen door come with all the parts needed?

Asked by: dude
Yes, it comes with everything you need. The rollers are much better than the generic door/rollers the developer installed. Height-wise it is adjustable which, in my opinion, was the hardest part of the installlation; trying to lengthen the end-frame to get it exactly tall enough so the mosquitoes wouldn't come in through the gap (if you extend the frame too far). It is a nicer door compared to the one the developer installed when my house was built.

If I purchase this door, can someone there help me tie it on my car's roof?

will bring the rope, of course. Thanks, Jessie
Asked by: JayKayC
Yes, they will. I have a '98 Honda Accord. While I can fit an 8' ladder inside my car, a screen door won't fit. I brought 50' of rope, I had bought at Dollar-Tree for $1. The Millerwork manager (HD department that sells doors) walked me to my car and helped me load it on my roof and tie it down. I drove 20mph on the way home.

Asked by: niner
My opening is also 78" high. Remember though, the upper channel goes up almost another inch that the sliding screen door slides up into. This sliding screen will fit perfect, I know this for sure as I have one. Plenty of adjustment to spare.

Can I get a size 36x96" sliding patio screen?
Asked by: Cindyk
Thank you for your interest in our Standard Patio Screen.  We do have custom patio screens available in some Home Depot locations via special order although there are size limitations. Be sure to check your local Home Depot to see if we are a vendor for that store. A Millwork Associate at the store should be able to help you.

We didn't have a screen door at our house when we moved in, so I didn't have one to compare it to. This adjusted easily, slides smooth enough, and was actually really easy to install. We ended up extending it vertically almost all of the way. Installation took about 15 minutes, I didn't install the locking mechanism as I just don't see why you would lock a screen door like this. The door is stable, doesn't flex, slides easily enough for my 7 year old to open without damaging it, and stays in place enough from my 2 year old leaning on it.

The instructions told me to remove the wheel assemblies if there was no track at the top of the existing door frame. Removing the wheel assemblies was difficult and chewed up my hands while destroying the assemblies...some guidance would have been appreciated. Went to install the parts in place of the wheel assemblies as instructed and they didn't snap into place and were too loose to keep in place prior to inserting the door into the frame. The last straw was that the replacement pieces for the wheel assemblies didn't fit into my door frame track. Really bummed out by this product and hope Home Depot will allow me to return it given that the wheel assemblies I removed were in one case, deformed from the removal process.

I need an 80" door and this is supposed to expand to 80" which it does. Unfortunately with the expanders fully extended the door falls off the track when it rolls--I need another inch of aluminum expander at the top. Never got a chance to check it for durability but just comparing it to the one I took back to Lowe's for the same reason, it does appear a little better quality wise--but I'll never know. One other QC item. If it's standard to have the screen fabric mounted from the inside, and the "bug catch" is supposed to slide against the glass patio door, meaning it's also on the screen door inside, then they mounted the plastic open/close handle backwards with a small slide handle that is only accessed from the outside.

For a top track without a rail, you are supposed to remove the rollers. Thing is, the rollers don't come out easily without breaking them. Then the pieces that are supposed to be inserted don't actually fit. Finally, the door didn't fit into my track. Returning it.

There is no way this door can be expanded to the length as stated on the box. Very poor workmanship. It's too flimsy to expand to 79 or 80 inches.

Against better judgment (but more due to the lack of aftermarket sliding screen doors), I bought my second UHD screen door in as many years. Except for the fact that the door is flimsy, the bug guards won't insert or stay on, the adjustment process is endless and frankly never works right, and the amazing hack job it did on my tracks from falling out of alignment (see photos), this is winner product! The fact that the maker provides no customer service phone number or email address on their website is a clear indicator they know they are selling junk. This one goes back to Home Depot --

Dunno why the reviews for this are so negative, I just installed this and it was a vast improvement over the stock sliding screen door I had that fell out of square and was not worth trying to save after years of use. The old screen door I had had the wheel adjustments on the end and I about destroyed the door trying to pop in new rollers (and never was successful in replacing them). Was a junky design. To my pleasant surprise, this sliding door had done away with that terrible design of old and had top and bottom rails that could be adjusted with spring loaded upper and lower track wheels that can be replaced easily (unlike my old one). My particular sliding door jamb had no upper track, just a channel. I left the upper wheels on and it worked fine. You can take the upper wheels off and use the included channel guides instead but I didn't need to do that. I'd rather leave the top rollers on cause the sliding action feels better with them rolling rather than using a friction guide in the top channel, plus them being spring loaded, you can get a tighter fit. My raw opening itself was 78". Upper channel in the jamb goes up almost another inch. There was plenty of adjustment for me to get the sliding screen door tight but still rolling good. my old stock one didn't have this type of adjustment and would fall off the track frequently cause I could never get the door tight enough to not rock. This one doesn't do that, it says puts during sliding. You just have to mess with the adjustments to get it right. All in all, I'm quite happy with this and was so glad to finally get rid of my old sliding screen door. I had a good time cutting the old one up and throwing it in the dumpster, good riddance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage, Garbage, Garbage Where do I start 1. HD says it will fit a standard 6' 8" door but with the frame fully extended it's a half inch too short. 2. The wheels are thin flimsy plastic so they will not stay on the track 3. The wheel springs are so weak the door bottoms out metal to metal under its own weight. 4. The frame does not stay square causing it to bind and come off the track. If you look there has not been a good review in over a year. HD most likely changed vendors and is now selling a product that DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT waste your time and money on this junk. My advise to HD: Take these off the shelf and find a new vendor that will manufacture to spec.
