Questions & Answers

Does this screen door come with all the parts needed?

Asked by: dude
Yes, it comes with everything you need. The rollers are much better than the generic door/rollers the developer installed. Height-wise it is adjustable which, in my opinion, was the hardest part of the installlation; trying to lengthen the end-frame to get it exactly tall enough so the mosquitoes wouldn't come in through the gap (if you extend the frame too far). It is a nicer door compared to the one the developer installed when my house was built.

If I purchase this door, can someone there help me tie it on my car's roof?

will bring the rope, of course. Thanks, Jessie
Asked by: JayKayC
Yes, they will. I have a '98 Honda Accord. While I can fit an 8' ladder inside my car, a screen door won't fit. I brought 50' of rope, I had bought at Dollar-Tree for $1. The Millerwork manager (HD department that sells doors) walked me to my car and helped me load it on my roof and tie it down. I drove 20mph on the way home.

the height opening is only 78in

Asked by: niner
My opening is also 78" high. Remember though, the upper channel goes up almost another inch that the sliding screen door slides up into. This sliding screen will fit perfect, I know this for sure as I have one. Plenty of adjustment to spare.

Against better judgment (but more due to the lack of aftermarket sliding screen doors), I bought my second UHD screen door in as many years. Except for the fact that the door is flimsy, the bug guards won't insert or stay on, the adjustment process is endless and frankly never works right, and the amazing hack job it did on my tracks from falling out of alignment (see photos), this is winner product! The fact that the maker provides no customer service phone number or email address on their website is a clear indicator they know they are selling junk. This one goes back to Home Depot --

The instructions told me to remove the wheel assemblies if there was no track at the top of the existing door frame. Removing the wheel assemblies was difficult and chewed up my hands while destroying the assemblies...some guidance would have been appreciated. Went to install the parts in place of the wheel assemblies as instructed and they didn't snap into place and were too loose to keep in place prior to inserting the door into the frame. The last straw was that the replacement pieces for the wheel assemblies didn't fit into my door frame track. Really bummed out by this product and hope Home Depot will allow me to return it given that the wheel assemblies I removed were in one case, deformed from the removal process.

For a top track without a rail, you are supposed to remove the rollers. Thing is, the rollers don't come out easily without breaking them. Then the pieces that are supposed to be inserted don't actually fit. Finally, the door didn't fit into my track. Returning it.

I need an 80" door and this is supposed to expand to 80" which it does. Unfortunately with the expanders fully extended the door falls off the track when it rolls--I need another inch of aluminum expander at the top. Never got a chance to check it for durability but just comparing it to the one I took back to Lowe's for the same reason, it does appear a little better quality wise--but I'll never know. One other QC item. If it's standard to have the screen fabric mounted from the inside, and the "bug catch" is supposed to slide against the glass patio door, meaning it's also on the screen door inside, then they mounted the plastic open/close handle backwards with a small slide handle that is only accessed from the outside.

There is no way this door can be expanded to the length as stated on the box. Very poor workmanship. It's too flimsy to expand to 79 or 80 inches.

I returned it after spending two hours trying to install it. The directions were literally impossible to follow. Not just confusing. I mean I was directed to insert a small plastic part into the track, and it just wouldn't fit! Why does Home Depot sell this brand?

Have to write AZ for warranty claim per install sheet. Door frame is flimsy 1.2 inch thick, the reason that it costs less than $100. Acceptable for my usage. Door rollers are fixed, unit hard to slide, even after using spray silicone. Time will probably loosen or I will change rollers to rough service.

It took an hour or so to get it adjusted correctly, but once installed it slides easily and seems solid and stable. I've noticed that most of the complainants have doorway heights near the limits of this door, either too short or too tall. My doorway is 79", near the middle of the range, and that may partially account for my success and satisfaction. I have a couple of reasons for giving it less than 5 stars. 1) The adjustable sections on the top and bottom detract a little from the appearance of the door. 2) The adjustable sections do not extend all the way to the edges of the door, leaving about a 1/4" gap at each end. I had to wrap with white tape to cover the holes. I did have one issue when installing: The adjustable section on the top makes the door a little wider than the door I was replacing, and it bound and rubbed in the channel. I was able to insert a board into the channel and gently widen it a little. The result is not visible at all, but it allows the door to slide freely. All in all, for a one-door-fits-all solution it's much cheaper than a custom door would be and it works well and looks OK.
