Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JCLNRV Great Face Shield. Resonable Price. Fast Delivery to Store.
I needed a face shield that would fit close to my chest and prevent debris from flying into my face and eyes from the bottom of the shield. This shield satisfies that requirement. Now, I did read all the reviews and two of them were amusing. It seems there is a misconception regarding the clarity of the PC (polycarbonate) shield. The instructions are printed on the plastic bag that contains the head harness that will be fitted to the shield frame. It does explain that the PC is protected with an opaque film that must be removed for clear vision. Don't return the shield because you can't see through it. Remove the PC shield from the frame by pressing on the bottom of the PC to release it from the pin and pull it from the frame. Now, peal away the protective film from both sides of the shield. Replace the shield to its frame. The Home Depot does need to modify the verbiage regarding this product. It is in no way to be used for welding. Welding requires a shield that will absorb the harmful rays of the welding process, protect the eyes from splatter of molten metal and high heat. This shield is not made to do that. If you need a welding shield, I suggest you visit a welding specific suppler and discuss your specific needs.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CJ56 Not so good for weed eating
Small rocks still got around shield. When put closer to face very hot. Not good for weed eating at all. I bought shield because it looked like it would turn away the smaller rocks. How ever...shield is very good grinding metal.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kirk Very well designed
This is a very well designed faceshield. It pivots on the head-straps similar to a welding mask. This is helpful when you want it out of the way. It is a very full faceshield covering ear to ear and top of the forehead to the bottom of the neck. When you are grinding metal, this is important. The faceshield is positioned far enough from your face that face masks can be worn to prevent breathing dust while working.
The clip that locks the shield in place did not stay closed for me, but it a minor detail as the other side works and is sufficient to hold the shield in place. This is a great piece of personal protection at a very low price.

I work on a recycling belt line. Was hoping to find something to shield me from flying debris and liquids while not impeding my vision. I've used this shield 50 hours a week for 6 weeks and it works great. I just ordered 2 new replacement shields for when the time comes I need them but for now I don't. My co-workers get splashed in the mouth and eyes with who-knows-what, I don't. Love it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Josef Shield is great
It's really hard to imagine the two guys below not figuring out to peel the protective film off before putting it together, but if you're capable of doing that, the shield is great. I've already had a large chunk of wood fly off my lathe and hit me right in the middle of the shield, it would have been the bridge of my nose. Not a scratch on the shield or my face.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bill Works as advertised
Light weight, good quality, and performs as advertised.
...and if you can't see through the lens, it's because you didn't peal the protective film off both sides of it before you tried to use it. The lens is in fact 100% clear, as stated in the product description, and not frosted, as other reviewers have stated.
It serves it's purpose well and gets a thumbs up.

This is a good strong shield, but it is hard to see out of. I bought this to shield my face while trimming the yard. I would use this if you are familiar with the area that needs to be trimmed.

I got the face shield instead of just the safety glasses because of doing weed eating after cutting grass, I was sometimes hit in the face by debris. I had never used a face shield before, and it took getting used to, but I will never use just the safety glasses again. I even use it while I'm cutting with the riding mower, as it keeps dust and grass clippings out of your face on a windy day.
