Answer:
The pump does include a check valve and they can be purchased separately. The check valve screws into the top on the unit. The 3/8 inch discharge tubing connects to the check valve. If you search for "Little Giant" condensate pumps you can locate vendors that sell the check valve assembly. It sells for approximately $8.00.

If anything goes wrong on this pump you should just buy an entire new one. The motor is the heart of it.

The current pump I have for my A/C unit that needs replacement is VCMA-20ULS (C-554425).
What would be the difference between the two models other than an extra $20 on the price? How do I know whether the second model on the question above is compatible with my A/C unit.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Answer:
The catalog number 554425 is a VCMA-20ULS however the catalog number 554401 is a model VCMA-15ULS. It is a smaller pump and has less of a flow rate. The height you are lifting the water determines what size pump you need. All pumps are rated on a graph called a pump curve. It shows the flow rate of the pump at different heights. These curves are displayed on the spec sheets on the Little Giant Pump web Read More

Answer:
So long as the pump is sized and installed correctly I don't see why it could not handle multiple appliances. However I don;t know why a humidifier would need a pump. Humidifiers have a water supply and put moisture into the air. They don;t remove water that needs to be pumped away. Maybe you mean a dehumidifier?

VCMA-20ULS 115-Volt Condensate Removal Pump is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed. This was exactly what I needed. A simple pump to collect the A/C condensate and pump it out. The condensate fills the reservoir in 15-20 min, which activates the float switch and it is emptied in about 10 seconds. I use a 20 ft plastic hose to get the water out of the crawl space.

I bought this for a dehumidifier in my basement, all I needed was some flex line and 1/2" pvc to pump the water outside. It works great and this way I'm not emptying the pan in the sink everyday.
