Answer:
The pump does include a check valve and they can be purchased separately. The check valve screws into the top on the unit. The 3/8 inch discharge tubing connects to the check valve. If you search for "Little Giant" condensate pumps you can locate vendors that sell the check valve assembly. It sells for approximately $8.00.

If anything goes wrong on this pump you should just buy an entire new one. The motor is the heart of it.
When these pumps tired they begin to take longer and longer to pump out the water as they also get somewhat noisier. It should be quiet and take 11 seconds to pump out the water. (note: is isn't suposed to pump out the container dry) Mine reached up to 3 minutes of running and I ditched it for this

Answer:
So long as the pump is sized and installed correctly I don't see why it could not handle multiple appliances. However I don;t know why a humidifier would need a pump. Humidifiers have a water supply and put moisture into the air. They don;t remove water that needs to be pumped away. Maybe you mean a dehumidifier?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good purchase Works very well. Very quiet. Much better pump than the 10-year-old pump that was on the furnace. The only reason it has 4 instead of 5 stars is that the little wires for an emergency shutoff switch had no instructions for what to do with them if you don't HAVE an emergency shutoff device. My solution was to put wirenuts on them. It works, so I guess that was the right choice. I'd like to know, however, if it really is. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Small and Mighty My propane boiler came with this pump when it was new. It pumped out the condesated water within 11 seconds and very quietly in the basement directly under my bed upstairs. It never woke me up and the only way I could hear it was to already be awake listening for it and then it was still fairly quiet. That one lasted 3 years and 3 months. I bought a different pump that turned out to be so noisy that I could hear it on the next level of my house at the furthest diagonal away. Couldn't stand it so I returned it within the week and got another Little Giant Model 554425 like my propane boiler came with. This guy even costs considerable less than the other I tried to use and draws less energy at 1.5 amps. I would certainly get another. By the way...when these get tired they begin to take longer and longer to pump out the water as they also get somewhat noisier. Mine reached up to 3 minutes of running and I ditched it for this new one. Love it, love it, love it. Easy to replace of course. December 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product This product was very similar to the one I replaced and installed easily by a single mother all by herself! :) May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exact replacement I ordered an exact replacement for the original pump installed on my heating system. The OEM replacement installed in minutes with no modifications. My only concern is that the original pump failed in just over 5 years....will I have to go through this again in another 5 years? Easy buy from Home Depot on line, quick shipping, would have been easier if my local Home Depot had this item in stock. February 10, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value and Product your sight made it extremely easy to find this product. Pricing was awesome and delivery even better #HomeDepotRocks June 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HVAC Condensate Pump I purchased this pump specifically for the manufacturer. I did NOT want to replace the old pump with a pump from the same mfg. I expect this pump will last 10-15 years. I installed it myself following the directions provided. July 8, 2014
