Answer:
I stuck some to a chunk of aluminum to try and it sticks good, I would think it would depend on how much texture the siding has as to how well it would work.

10 ft. x 1 in. Black Industrial Strength Extreme Tape is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect For My Outdoor Fastening Projects !!! This came at just the right time. We are in the midst of swapping out our outdoor decorations, and several decorations using older Velcro had the Velcro disintegrate to being unusable. I replaced the older Velcro with this industrial strength Velcro...The difference is night and day! Removing the Velcro from the box is easy enough, and separating the two joining pieces takes a little work. Once applied to both your surfaces, you let it cure the required amount of time. Once you put the two pieces together, there is no movement whatsoever. This Velcro has a thousand and one uses around my house. I've always liked using Velcro however, this stuff is a whole different ball game...The stuff really creates a tough bond. Overall, I am extremely satisfied and Highly Recommend this Velcro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stuck on like glue This velcro works great on many surfaces. I am a teacher and I have the dreaded concrete brick wall. This velcro makes it easy to hang up things and them actually stay versus be on the floor the next day because of humidity. I have velcroed things to my desk, walls, and dry erase board. I have not however tried it outside. I plan on using it for Christmas decorating outside. The only thing I had to be careful of was hanging heavy items. It doesn't stay up very well if you are hanging up heavy items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful Item This tape is easy to cut, it sticks well to things and the Velcro works well. There isn’t too much else to say. I didn’t test it by attaching something really heavy. I used it to put my snowshoes on the wall which aren’t that heavy, see photo. It wasn’t the best surface to use it on because the bricks are really uneven. So far they are still up there. Good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a versatile fastener I use Velcro for a lot of things around the house and at work. Barely a week goes by that I don't find a new application for it. The latest success was with my spice holders. The ones I have hang on the inside of my kitchen cabinets, and originally attached to the doors with extra-strength double-sided foam tape. At first that was fine, but then, from the weight of the bottles and from pulling the spices out of the rack, it all started to come loose and every other time I opened the cabinet door the whole apparatus would come off and bottles would crash to the floor. The industrial strength Velcro solved the problem. It is extremely sticky. The Velcro easily supports the weight of both the plastic and glass bottles, and when I pull bottles out of the rack, the rack does not budge. The Velcro package says that it is for outdoor use also, so I recently used it to hang signs for an outdoor party. It easily stuck to aluminum siding, canopy poles, textured resin furniture, and even sycamore trees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Strong, Heavy Duty Fastening Material I have used other Velcro fastening "hook and loop" tape, so when I saw this "Industrial Strength Extreme" version of their product, I had to try it. As you can see from the pictures below, both the "hook"and "loop" sides of the fastening system are more robust than smaller versions of their product, and the UV-resistant adhesive material underneath the "loop" tape is definitely stronger than other versions of the Velcro line of products I have used so this is well-suited for heavy duty uses. Similarly, the "hook" tape portion has more pronounced prongs to catch on the loops. The one-inch width is just right for most any size project, and the fact that this is a ten-foot roll of the product means you won't run out any time soon. The box states that it can be used to hold items up to 20 pounds, and I believe it! I highly recommend this product! It will not disappoint you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs better than all the rest! I live in Arizona where we grow produce, raise chickens and do farmers markets. I use this velcro product because it's the only one I've found that can handle the extreme heat and constant abuse from being attached to my market coolers. We have almost 20 large coolers used for storing produce in the Arizona desert and do 3 to 4 markets each week. I use velcro to hold my signs in place. This is the only velcro-type product that holds up the best. These coolers are constantly being moved around, stacked and power washed several times each week, so it takes super-strong velcro to withstand the constant abuse. I would highly recommend the velcro extreme!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly strong backing; holds well; hook/loops break easily After cutting a small slit along the see-through part of the box (see photo) and removing a notch, I got an easy way to dispense the velcro (I'm hoping to get royalties for this from the mfr!). ;) The velcro was easy to cut through both halves and equally easy to apply, though I found that separating the backing was a bit of a struggle (bending the velcro while holding a corner of the backing helped). According to the instructions on the box, the adhesive needs 24 hours to fully cure, but, I was able to use it immediately, per the photos, which show me using it on a 3-pound, steel, sledgehammer. The velcro held the hammer with no problem, even though the two velcro pieces weren't it total contact (I had laid them out tangential to each other). But, when I pulled the hammer off, the velcro on the side attached to the hammer came right off, because I hadn't noticed that the masking tape on the hammer - - used to protect the wood handle and my hand - - had distintegrated over time (i.e., not the fault of the velcro). I also noticed that, in applying the velcro to the shelf, the right side, where I had pushed to seal it to the shelf, had lost or bent some of the hooks (or loops) rather easily (see close-up photo). In other words, it fell apart, though they did not come off or bend when I attached and removed the velcro'd hammer. This may mean that continued joining and removing of the two pieces may render it useless over time. The instructions indicate that it is not for dashboards or fabrics, which, to be honest, were both why I needed the velcro! It also warns against using it on certain brick without giving specific types, which is odd, because the product video in its Home Depot page shows it being used on brick, though it may be a faux-brick (i.e., smooth) surface! It also warns to keep the product out of the sun, presumably because it will break down the adhesive, which may also mean that it won't hold up in heat in the shade, humidity, or rain (I have not tested it against any of those, but the package warns against underwater use, so, there's some credence to my guess about humidity and rain). After 24 hours, the backing adhered to the steel shelf as if it were bonded to it! I could not remove it by hand, and wouldn't try with a razor or anything else! Very surprising! The velcro may seem expensive, but, keep in mind that a few, much weaker, velcro in dollar or department stores go for $1-$2 for just a few strips, usually less than a foot in total length and which cannot be used to hold tools (i.e., they are, usually, for fabrics only). So, if you're looking for something to hang your tools - - but not your hat! - - on, then this might be the product for you!
