Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hokehouse1 We were able to install this item to our best visual advantage.
As a result of keeping hallway doors closed to our four little pups, we had a very dark hallway. With the installation of this product, we now keep reminding each other that the light wasn't left on...we just have beautiful natural light in that hallway all day long.

My wife and I wanted to add skylights because our kitchen was too dark but we did not want another round of messy construction. We saw a do-it-yourself show that had sun tunnels as an alternative so we decided to take the chance. We thought the before and after pictures were just photoshopped. Wow, were we wrong. We are so pleasantly surprised with the amount of light that the sun tunnel lets into our once dark kitchen. I would definitely recommend sun tunnels to anyone. We want to add they to other areas in the house. They make a very dramatic difference and they are not hard to install. Highly recommended!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by johndigbydog VERY nice product and lets in LOTS of light!
This is the FOURTH skylight of this brand, size and style I have in my home and garage, lets in lots of light and fairly straight forward install. The flashing on this particular model is what I really like best, it sits high above the shingles but pleasing to the eye, well constructed of metal and powder coated..... Over the past few years the interior trim kit has improved too, more attractive and durable. The only thing I did NOT like was the shipping! Home Depot would not allow it to be shipped to the store for free pick-up and I thought $55 was too much for shipping.....I bit the bullet and paid it......

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by drmspeeker WONDERFUL!!!!
omg My husband put 2 of these up in my very dark kitchen. I am IN LOVE. I want 4 more and will eventually get them. These are wonderful and the amount of light is amazing! No regrets here. People if you had any doubts...forget them and purchase these tubes. If you have a large room, 2 smaller ones will work better than one large one...You have to look at where you want the light in the room and then plan out. The first one took a little longer as Hubby wanted to do it right..the second took about 2.5 hours. He said very easy to put up.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by chubby Great product, unclear instructions
I just installed the 10 inch sun tube in my windowless bathroom and it now provides a huge amount of white light.
As one reviewer previously mentioned, removing the roof shingles was the most time consuming portion of the job. I used a plumb bob and string to mark the center point for the holes that needed to be cut in the ceiling and roof.
I only needed a 24 inch run, so I used the top elbow section and a 15 inch section of straight tube, which I cut with a pair of aviation cutters.
My only negative comment is the instruction booklet is a bit hard to follow and contains an error for installing the 10 inch rigid tube. The instruction booklet says to cut a 14.5 inch wide hole for a 10 inch tube (see table on bottom of page 7). This is incorrect. It should be 10 inches wide. If you watch the instruction video on the Velux website the announcer also says it should be a 10 inch wide cut.
On the plus side, the kit includes extra screws and plenty of tint foil tape for insulating the tube joints.

Well constructed, and relatively easy to install (depends on your skill level). Draw back, they only give you one center section that is 2 ft long. If you have a long distance from you ceiling to your roof you will be buying two additional extensions at $35 a pop. I needed 3.
