Answer:
This TMR SUN TUNNEL is a great selection for maximum light. Since the flashing is pitched, it helps the dome catch more light, especially if this is installed on the side of your roof that does not get a lot of sunlight. Also, the rigid tunnel is more light reflective than the flexible tunnel. Great choice for maximum light! Thank you for choosing VELUX!

Answer:
Since we do not offer a Flashing Kit for a metal roof application with our SUN TUNNELS, we do not recommend you installing the TMR on a metal roof. Thank you for choosing VELUX!

Answer:
Yes, it will. However, keep in mind that the longer the tunnel, the more daylight is compromised. The maximum recommended tunnel length for the 10" SUN TUNNEL is 18 feet. Thank you for choosing VELUX!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Much better than I had hoped. This has to be one of the best buy's I've made. After a tornado damaged the roof I had these installed along with a new roof. Our house is dark, faces east and west and gets little natural light. I had them put in three of these, one in each bathroom with no windows and the kitchen with a small window. Even on cloudy days no lights are needed. On sunny days they are brighter than the lights we have. I did not install them but they looked simple enough and wouldn't have thought twice about installing it myself. I'd do this again without reservations. In fact we're looking at installing two more in the living room. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sun Tunnel Project Item was as stated, easy to install and the results was very good. DIY project no problem August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sun Tunnel Tubular Skylight We love this 14" tubular skylight. It brings so much light into our once dark kitchen. We no longer have to turn lights on during the day. Our contractor did the installation, so we cannot rate that area. July 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brings in light The Sun tunnel brings in good light, even in overcast days. The installation instructions are probably the worst I have ever seen, they should have brought in someone who never installed one before and watch him install one following the instructions to see what they missed, I am not a novice in doing work around the house and found the instructions less than adequate for example they never mentioned which part of the extension tube should be up or down (wide or narrow side), and no clear instruction on what part of the ceiling base the tube should rest in. The extensions in the box were bent on the edges even thought the box was in tact so it could be quality issue at Velux. May 19, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wish I would have stayed with the 14 inch i decided to have the 10 inch versus 14 inch installed over a kitchen island. Thought the 14 inch would be too big, but the actual light portion of the 10 inch is really less than 9 inches. The issue was though there are plenty of windows, most have solar shades over them in the summer, and the sun rises on the opposite side of the house so in the morning when reading the paper, I had to turn on an overhead light even though it was bright outside. The solar tube has helped tremendously but I still would have liked more natural light. Maybe I should wait until winter to rate this since I will be pulling up the solar shades then. July 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase ever Missing upper flange for tunnel that was not included in the box. Contractor could not install and item needs and will be returned to the store. Since this was a two week shipping order item I had to go to Lowes to purchase another Velux Sun Tunnel. Very very costly as the contractor charged me return trip travel cost. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dark Living Room Purchased online from Home Depot and Installed 2 of the 10" Velux Solar Tubes in our dark living room at about 10' apart. They look great and let enough light in that we no longer have to keep a lamp on during the day time. The design of the Velux tubes with the notched edges and spring clips will hold the tubes together making it simple to size each end for final assembly. December 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Watch clearance in low pitch roof I like this product and it provides much light in our previously dark foyer. Installation would have been easy except for one problem. The instructions and descriptions list a maximum recommended tunnel length of 20ft. However, there is no mention of a minimum distance. The swivel pipes for top and bottom of the tunnel probably work fine if you have at least 24" from the ceiling ring to the dome at the roof. I have a 3/12 pitch roof and my installation location only gave me 15". I had to disassemble the elbows and force the whole thing to make a jog by force and sheet metal screws. The light is still bright, but it could be better. The 10" version might have shorter swivel pipes. December 7, 2013
