Answer:
Our VSE Electric Skylight comes with a 14 gage, 20 ft., romex wire, which installs in a standard size junction box (supplied by the end-user). This skylight is powered by 120 Volts, but converts to 24 DC Volts at the skylight motor. I hope this is helpful. Thank you for choosing VELUX!

Does the skylight open all the way to provide access to the roof? Can you detach the motorized arm that opens and closes the skylight so you can open it completely?

Answer:
Yes, you can detach the chain from the sash to open it out approximately 45 degrees. However, this is not considered an egress emergency exit. Thank you for choosing VELUX!

Which side is the opening?

The picture shows a vertically long skylight. However this product is 44-1/4 in. width and 26-7/8 in. height, so it's longer horizontally than vertically. Is the opening at the bottom of the skylight (the 44-1/4 in. width) side? Or is the opening at the side of the skylight (the 26-7/8 in. height) side?

I hope that makes sense. I've attached a diagram to explain what I'm asking. Thank you.

The VSE S01 skylight does install horizontally longer on your roof deck. The opening side is on the 44-1/4" width (opposite from this diagram). Thank you.
