Product Overview

VELUX skylights are an energy-efficient way to bring sunlight into a home and make dark rooms come to life. Bringing natural light into a home through a skylight decreases the need for electricity while maintaining privacy. Installing a skylight is one of the most impactful ways to enhance both the brightness and beauty of a room.

  • Model comes with specially engineered VELUX EDL flashing which is required for installation on a shingle/shake/slate roof
  • Qualifies for a 10-year no leak installation warranty when installed with the included flashing on a roof pitch between 14° and 85°
  • Features tempered energy efficient, Low-E3, argon-filled, dual glass panes
  • Consider adding a VELUX solar powered blind (sold and shipped separately) which is eligible for a 30% federal solar tax credit and allows you to control the light
  • Consider upgrading to a solar powered fresh air skylight (model VSS) to bring both natural light and fresh air into your home using only the power of the sun, plus it is eligible for a 30% federal solar tax credit, making it very affordable
  • Please note: We recommend and most building codes require laminated glass for out of reach applications
  • For C06 models, rough opening dimensions should equal 21 in. for width and 45-3/4 in. for height

Answer:
A deck mount skylight is a skylight that attaches directly to the roof deck. Deck mounted skylights combine a wood frame, the insulated glass panes, and the aluminum cladding. A flashing kit is used to cover the seam and make the installation water-tight.
A curb is nothing but a raised frame that certain types of skylights (curb mount) are attached to. The curb raises the skylight above the roof line. Read More

Our Curb Mount Skylights do not have a built-in frame. They install on a site built curb. They have a pitch requirement of 0 to 60 degrees. They are great for replacing existing domes. We have standard stock sizes available, however, we can custom size our fixed curb mount skylights as well.

Answer:
No, you cannot change the orientation of our Deck Mount Skylights. In doing so, it may cause the skylight to leak (due to the direction of the weep holes) and void your warranty. You can, however, change the orientation of our FCM Fixed Curb Mounted Units.
Thank you.
