Product Overview

VENTS TwinFresh Comfo RAI-50-2 is a single room Energy Recovery Ventilator where the ventilation mode can be adjusted in each room according to your personal preferences. VENTS TwinFresh Comfo Energy Recovery Ventilator is an efficient, healthy way of exchanging the polluted, stale air inside your home with fresh outdoor air year round while cutting your heating and cooling bills. In winter, the energy core in TwinFresh Comfo RAI-50-2 warms up the incoming cold fresh air. While the warm, stale air is extracted from a room, it passes through the ceramic energy core where the heat and moisture is being accumulated. As the ceramic core heats up, the ventilator reverses the airflow, bringing in the fresh, colder outside air. As the clean, fresh air from outside passes through the ceramic energy core, the accumulated heat conditions the incoming cold air. In summer the conditioned cool air cools down the fresh warm incoming air, repeating the same cycle. There are numerous benefits installing VENTS TwinFresh Comfo into your home.

  • Recovers heat and moisture to reduce heating cost in winter and air conditioning cost in summer
  • Provides controlled supply of fresh air
  • Decreases or increases indoor humidity levels to maintain a comfortable environment for you
  • Reduces unhealthy indoor air pollutants with the use of MERV 6 antibacterial filters

The unit is not designed for humidity control, only for exchanging air. It will have very little effect on the humidity level.

Answer:
The unit will satisfy the air exchange of 350 sqf room. If you go over 350 sqf, it is recommended to use two units. In this case the two units are balancing each other, until one exhaust the other serves as a supply. After each cycle the fans turn directions.
The price is for one unit.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Made a huge difference in indoor air quality I am an artist and my studio is in my home. I tightened up the insulation and air leakage last summer to save energy, but then this winter the paint/turpentine fumes were significantly worse because I cut off the air flow. This vent did the trick. Easy to install if you are halfway handy, and note that this plugs into a regular wall socket, so no wiring is required. (That wasn't clear in the product description.) Works as advertised - sort of like the room is breathing. First it exhales until the interior unit heats up, then inhales to pre-warm the outdoor air. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very well engineered product Installation of this well-designed product could not be simpler, just cut some 6 inch holes in the inner and outer walls, insert the vent tube and screw the inner mounting plate and outer vent down. I only have two minor complaints. First, the manual is not very detailed in explaining the functions of the remote control. I am particularly baffled about the so-called "night mode". It appears to be designed to run the fan at its lowest power setting at night. Presumably it has a light sensor in it that determines when the room is dark, but this is not explained clearly. Similarly, the humidity control function is not explained in any detail. Also, when I opened the box I was assaulted by a very strong scent. It appears that they had squirted some "fresh air" scent into the device, but it smelled like a combination of cheap cologne and a cheap hotel room. My solution was to take it outside and run the fan at full speed to purge this unpleasant odor from the device. I used a data logger to measure temperatures at both sides of the ventilator along with outside and inside temperatures when it was at 32°F at night outside. I charted the results and share them with you here to document how well this device performs. It is very impressive. The downward slope of the red temperature line indicates warm air being blown in to the room. The upward slope shows the temperature on the inner surface of the vent returning to normal while the interior ceramic cartridge is being warmed up. October 13, 2014
