I thatched and seeded my lawn last fall, this is the seed I chose. I Chose Vigaro over the Scotts because of the label stating that this grass would repair itself. It took well during the fall and initially I was happy with the result. Spring is here and now I have this Vigaro grass that looks nothing like a normal blade of grass. Blades are supposed to be flat, the blades on this grass are round, they don't seem to be blades at all but look more like stems of a large weed grass. It is all over my lawn. It's not very noticeable after I cut it but It's been growing 6" a week, and with in days of a fresh cut it looks terrible. Vigaro should not call this grass seed, this is some kind of variant weed grass. I am beside myself, I may need to tear out the entire lawn if I'm ever going to get rid of this. This is a horrible product!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by pleasantglen VIGORO Grass seed
I bought a 20 LBS of VIGORO grass seeds and followed the planting instruction on the bag 100%. The results were very poor and unsatisfactory. I waited for almost a month to see any growth, but there was very little to speak of. Don't waste your money on this product

I planted this at our lake cabin just before a rain and raked it in. Nothing sprouted after 2 weeks. Nothing! Waste of money.

I purchsed this back in the fall to use on my entire yard, which is almost 3 acres. I had heard such horror stories about all the Scotts products from some landscaping buddies I decided to go the cheaper route and see what happened. Within 2 weeks I had the most green/full yard around. I have used nothing except there products since(fertilizer/weed killer). They have all exceeded my expections. That was last october and I have aerated and over seeded early this spring even though I was told it's not the best time to do fescue but it worked out great for me. Water and there fertilizer are the two key things in my opinion. When I originally used it I did water my yard for about 2 hours a day every day for those 2 weeks. Ever since then I have only watered it when i over seeded and put down fertilizer. It has to be cut once a week and the key to cutting fescue is to not cut it too short. You want it about 3inches high after you're done.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SturmTiger42 Revolutionary Turf Product -- Tall Fescue that REPAIRS itself.
As a professional Landscape Architect in Nebraska, THIS is the only turf I use now. That is because, Rhizominous Turf-Forming (RTF) Tall Fescue is the Holy Grail of turf advancement that brings this turfgrass to the front of the pack -- bar none. You get all of the VIRTUES of Tall Fescue -- drought tolerance, disease resistance, and no more grub problems; that are all too common with bluegrass. But most importantly, it is the regenerative capacity that allows RTF Tall Fescue to literally repair itself and fill-in bare spots -- being the dream of all homeowners who don't want to spend lots of money renovating their lawn every few years. I consistently see the best results with this turfgrass and it is the only seed mix I use now. As they say: "the proof is in the pudding." You can't go wrong with this product. BRAVO to Vigoro !!
