Purchased for no-wax wood floor. But the back of the can said, No Recommended For Floors. I am very confuse. Can I use for the floor ?
Asked by: Sumie
Our 1-qt. Early American Stain and Polyurethane is not recommended for floors, it should be used for services such as cabinets and trim. For a floor, we recommend using our Varathane Fast Dry Wood Stain, followed by our Varathane Polyurethane: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Varathane-1-gal-Clear-Satin-Water-Based-Floor-Polyurethane-230231/100142887

Did 2 coats of and let it dry overnight. my floor still feels sticky . Will this go away with time? If not, any tips?

Asked by: ABW
Our 1-qt. Early American Stain and Polyurethane is not recommended for floors, as it will not hold up to foot traffic. This coating should be fully dry after four hours, although factors such as humidity, temperature, and the thickness of the coating may all affect the dry time. Given enough time, the coating should fully dry.

I just now used it on some sub-floor plywood in my dining room (don't have the money for flooring). It really looks pretty and may not get flooring when I do have the money - will have to see how it holds up on the floor. This stuff is great and saves time!! Anytime I am going to stain and poly, I will use this!! Love it!!!

This was the first time I had ever used this product and it won't be the last time, instead of two steps and having to let each step dry. With this you apply once let dry and your done. I love it! It's great for changing the color of wood. When going over a surface that has a poly or varnish finish I suggest scuffing the surface first. Most people say they were okay with one coat but I really preferred the look of two coats for a more even coverage. Test your color on a scrap wood first before using it on your project. With the stain in the poly you need to stir it often to keep the stain from separating from the poly. My next project is updating some 40 year old wood face cabinets to a darker, richer color.

They were easily able to stain and protect their furniture projects at once. Soap and water cleanup is a definite benefit, too.
