The installation was easy and fast. Only 4 screws to attach it to the roof of the garage to exhaust hot air, It exhausts through the existing turbine vent. I had to remove the louvers and do a "slight" modification on the switch spring tension.
Time will tell how it holds up to extended use in the hot dry Arizona climate.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by puzzleduser It stopped working after 6 weeks. I do not know what is wrong.
I got it installed in my garage which I use as my hobby workshop. It stopped working after 6 weeks. I am not sure if there is something wrong with the fan or with the electric connection supplying the power to the outlet. The electrician who installed it is not available. I will wait for another couple of weeks if the electrician shows up, otherwise will hire some other electrician to check out the problem. If the problem happens to be with the fan, I will return it to HomeDepot. It would be unfair to rate the fan without knowing the problem.

Without being able to measure it I find it hard to believe that it moves as much cfm as advertised. The motor seems like it could spin much faster than it does. Also, not thrilled with the position of the pull switch and the fact that the vanes open and close by the switch. I have it mounted in an opening that makes it impossible to pull straight down on the string so we have to shut on and off with the plug. The vanes and mechinism is all plastic and I can see that getting destroyed quickly. We'll have to just wait and see how it lasts.

This is a good exhaust fan to the price. I found it to be fairly easy to install, but I would have liked to known the exact install dimensions before purchase. You'll need a 13 3/8" x 13 3/8" hole cut for the fan. You could probably do a 13 1/2" square, and you'll want to caulk around it either way. You can also adjust the length of the pull chain fairly easily. So far, this thing moves the air I need it to, and is not too noisy.

It works, its louder than stated, and very thin plastic. Right out of box the switch did not work properly, maybe plastic parts warped during shipment or not quality checked as return spring for switch needed modification to work. For someone who doesn't understand engineering or fabrication may send back broken. Made adjustment, now works but expect short life of product. For now will work with.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RetiredGuy Great -- while it lasted
This fan arrived quickly, and worked great for my requirement. It was a bit louder than I'd hoped, but not as loud as some. Also rather attractive. In other words, it did the job nicely. . . for just a week. . . and then the motor would only hum when I switched it on. I could remove the shroud, turn it on, then spin the blades by hand to get it to run, but that's not a solution. Luckily I had not yet made my mounting permanent, and it had never been exposed to the weather, as I would lift it inside when turning it off. Could have been a lemon, but I was not willing to take a chance on ordering and installing another, so I returned it and am still looking for another. Home Depot took it back, no problem there, but unfortunately, as with most things made offshore these days, the manufacturer never finds out that their quality control is a failure, which is why some people will get good ones and others will not.

This fan was a lot less noisy than expected for a fan of it size and cooling ability. It works very well in cooling my garage on hot days due to the food freezer running in my garage. Thinking about getting the 8 inch diameter for my work shed, but will need to come up with a thermostat of some kind that would switch the 110 vac.

Just what I needed, turns on/off. A very affordable price. Simple to use, very quiet for the amount of air its taking out of the garage. They need to package the fan better, when it arrived some of the plastic grill parts were cracked. I had to glue those areas so the cracks wouldn't spread. Other than that its a good fan.
