12 in. Plastic Exhaust Utility Fan-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ease of Installation The installation was easy and fast. Only 4 screws to attach it to the roof of the garage to exhaust hot air, It exhausts through the existing turbine vent. I had to remove the louvers and do a "slight" modification on the switch spring tension. Time will tell how it holds up to extended use in the hot dry Arizona climate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome fan for moving lots of air out of an indoor grow room! This thing pushes a lot of air. Keeps my indoor grow right at 72 degrees with a 1000w hps and the fan on a thermastatic switch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Product This is a good exhaust fan to the price. I found it to be fairly easy to install, but I would have liked to known the exact install dimensions before purchase. You'll need a 13 3/8" x 13 3/8" hole cut for the fan. You could probably do a 13 1/2" square, and you'll want to caulk around it either way. You can also adjust the length of the pull chain fairly easily. So far, this thing moves the air I need it to, and is not too noisy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what was Expected It works, its louder than stated, and very thin plastic. Right out of box the switch did not work properly, maybe plastic parts warped during shipment or not quality checked as return spring for switch needed modification to work. For someone who doesn't understand engineering or fabrication may send back broken. Made adjustment, now works but expect short life of product. For now will work with.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It stopped working after 6 weeks. I do not know what is wrong. I got it installed in my garage which I use as my hobby workshop. It stopped working after 6 weeks. I am not sure if there is something wrong with the fan or with the electric connection supplying the power to the outlet. The electrician who installed it is not available. I will wait for another couple of weeks if the electrician shows up, otherwise will hire some other electrician to check out the problem. If the problem happens to be with the fan, I will return it to HomeDepot. It would be unfair to rate the fan without knowing the problem.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as hefty as I thought it was going to be. Without being able to measure it I find it hard to believe that it moves as much cfm as advertised. The motor seems like it could spin much faster than it does. Also, not thrilled with the position of the pull switch and the fact that the vanes open and close by the switch. I have it mounted in an opening that makes it impossible to pull straight down on the string so we have to shut on and off with the plug. The vanes and mechinism is all plastic and I can see that getting destroyed quickly. We'll have to just wait and see how it lasts.
