Answer:
All of the main components of the fan are metal. There are a few small parts that are plastic, such as the base collar. The motor does not require any additional lubrication.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is the BEST Fan purchase we ever made! I wish we found this fan like eight years ago, the circulation superb, the set-up was so easy, just follow the diagram that comes with the unit. Our garage catches the morning and afternoon SUN, now it's cool as ever, how I wish we bought this unit sooner than later. It keeps our NEW freezer cool, yes in the garage. We have been purchasing the smaller fans which don't even cools down the garage. June 21, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Recommend for Industrial Use the motor is weak, was replaced , and failed again June 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth every penny! I should've bought this years ago. I would have saved a bunch. I wasted so much money on two box fans a year because they were made so cheep. Never again. This fan is the best! Quiet too. Thanks! March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This fan lives up to expectations It has not been used that much so far (have had it assembled less than a month), so can't attest to the endurance or longevity. But the air movement is powerful, the construction is sturdy, oscillates just fine, and does the job. Was not overly difficult to assemble. It isn't quiet, but then we didn't expect it to be. I don't think it's unnecessarily loud considering its size and capacity. If it's used in a small space, then of course the noise level will be more pronounced. I would recommend this fan if you have a need to really get air moving in a space. January 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pay for the good fan, don't go cheap. Quiet and powerful fan, professional quality should last 10 years. Not cheap, but I like it! August 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best fan for the money I have purchased in a long time. Fan was easy to assemble with screw driver and wrench. Worked great for moving the air to keep you cool. Adjustable height places the fan where it needs to be. Set the desired fan speed and oscillating on to cover a wide area. July 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by has great features if worked properly has good fan speed and air flow. However, when you turn the oscillator on, it makes noises and hesitates the turning motion. August 6, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good fan bit noisy.... Easy to set up works well.....$150 is on the expensive side for a fan but it is all steel. June 25, 2013
